Lasko fan not spinning (capacitor replacement)

Well for the fan to spin you have to turn the shaft for it yo spin. when you have a problem like this it can only mean one out of two things. the first thing to check it the capacitor. if the capacitor give you a low reading the it need to be change.

Since purchasing it, kzread.infoUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.

I made the mistake of changing the capacitor on my Lasko 20" box fan. The motor hummed, but I couldn't start it and I figured it was worth a try. The new capacitor didn't fix it, then I noticed that it didn't even hum when you ran it with no capacitor, so the problem must have been open stator run windings. What I should have done was to test it after I removed the capacitor and thrown it out when I noticed the lack of humming. I learned a little in the process, though.

If your fan spinning slowly it could be the capacitor going through or the motor get a little weak after time. or it just need a good servicing by cleaning the motor from dust build up after time. try cleaning the motor and oiling the motor shaft and see how that work for you.
