1 - Stalk of Celery, Diced
3 - Small Carrots, Diced
6g - Oregano, Chopped
3 - Sprigs Rosemary Leaves Only, Chopped
4 - Sprigs of Thyme, Leaves Only, Chopped
10g - Basil, Chopped
230g - Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Roughly Chopped (Optional)
8 Rashers (220g) - Streaky Bacon
500g - Beef Mince
500g - Pork Mince
300ml - Red Wine (Can be substituted for Beef, Chicken or Vegetable Stock)
1.2kg (2.6Lb) - Tinned Diced Tomatoes
2 Cups - Parmesan Cheese, Freshly Grated
350g - Lasagne Sheets See Note Below
Bechamel Sauce -
900ml - Full Fat Milk
90g - Unsalted Butter
90g - Plain Flour (All Purpose)
1/2 - Brown Onion
2 - Dried or Fresh Bay Leaves
3 - Cloves
1/2 Cup - Parmesan Cheese, Freshly Grated
Notes -
I used instant lasagne sheets in this recipe, which means they don’t need to be pre cooked. If you are using Lasagne sheets that do need to be cooked, bring a pot of water to a boil and add in 1 Tbsp (15ml) Olive Oil. Place the pasta sheets into the water and cook per packet instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, moving them around frequently to avoid them sticking. If you are using fresh sheets, follow the recipe as I did in the video.
Substitutes -
500g - Beef Mince can be substituted for pork mince

Wow thank you so much for that! I really appreciate the kind words. 🙏
I made this today and took me 5 hours quite a job. Looking forward to a nice family dinner tonight.
Recently discovered your channel and find myself excited to try out a new recipe each week. I put together this lasagna recipe and, hands down, it is the absolute best lasagna my family has ever had. Thanks a million and keep up the great work!
Hi Jack: That is a lovely lasagna dish. Your explanations are very clear and easy to follow. I have never used the sun-dried tomatoes but I certainly will in the future - as well the added parm must give it a nice kick. I also like that you remind viewers to use scraps for stock, the amounts of pepper and garlic you use - my two favorite spices/additions. Thanks very much for posting.
Jack thank you mate... fantastic videos... fast , no messing, you do a recipe video in 11 mins that others take 40 mins and yours is better.... Keep up the good work...
I love how thorough you are when explaining. I'm not a beginner anymore and can do most things by "feeling" and at first I found your explanation a bit too much, but I can totally see how many, many people will appreciate this as you leave no questions open. A really nice guide to making yummy food 👍🏼 I'll surely make some of your dishes 😊
Mouthwateringly delicious 😋😋😋
Uhhh... YUM! Looks spectacular. Love the addition of the sun-dried tomatoes. Going to give it a go. Thanks so much!
Jack! I just learned something... If you add a table of contents to the description of a video (at the end works, probably works anywhere in there), KZread will split and name the video progress bar into named sections for easy seeking. Useful if you're following a longer recipe (maybe useful all the time?). Something like: Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:18 Cutting and preparation 03:12 Stove top 05:57 Bechamel sauce 08:12 Lasagna preparation 09:31 Cooking lasagna 10:17 Dish arrangement 10:33 Outro Cheers, mate. Excellent dish! Edit: Oh yeah, I think it needs the 00:00 timestamp for it to work... don't quote me on that.

I would never have thought of adding bacon and celery to my mix --- great idea -- love it. Next to good old English Fish'n'chips Lasagne is my favourite food. THANK YOU xx

Bacon is the best addition 😊😊
Getting the ingredients together. Going to cook this tomorrow. Thanks Jack for your explanation. Also, it looks incredible 😁👍
I love lasagne, but hate making the roux always goes wrong, but will Persevere with your recipe….thank you Chef Jack👏👏🇬🇧
Thanks, Jack. You're vids are great..Love you're attitude
Thanks for the lasagne recipe. I've never used that type of pasta sheet but appreciate the end product not coming out wet or soggy. I like that you use an authentic french tomato/meat sauce with the carrots & celery. My preference is to make a vegetarian lasagne with ricotta, spinach, and garlic-herbed feta bechamel. Appreciate your time given to share this recipe with us.
Oh my goodness that looks delicious
So I decided to make this recipe for my fam's get together for a Saturday afternoon. I prepared the meat (without pork because some family members don't eat pork) the day before and left it in the fridge to cook the lasagna in the morning. It makes it a bit less juicy but honestly i like it better like that, but worst case I would say to people to add some sauce during preparation if you cook the meat the day before. My aunt took 3 pieces, people keep talking about it how good it was, and some of them kept some to bring at home for the next day. Nothing was left. Huge, huge success.

Love it...I will try this method👊
You’re the best Jack! I’d eat ALL of your food!
I love this recipe! As someone that can't have gluten making recipes from scratch makes it so easy to swap ingredients. As a side note I've found that I need to use 1litre of milk for the Bechamel Sauce with the gluten free flour
I love you Jack - your dishes are amazing 😻 So easy to make and lots of fun. And they end up tasting so great!

I've never seen white sauce with the onion and cloves. Gonna need to try that. I LOVE white sauce.
😱 looks insane!!! Thanks jack
Thank you pal I’ve watched many tutorials on this dish, it being my favourite bloody great channel mate superb
One of the things that always kept me from trying to make a lasagne was because I thought that white sauce was ALL some kind of melted cheese and i was afraid it would be too expensive. In my mind I thought a lasagna had to be three cheeses but this just blew my mind ❤️ thanks Chef.

Bechamel/White Sauce is extremely easy to make. You don’t need anything fancy ingredients for it, just some butter, milk and flour, it can also be done without cheese. Glad I was able to teach you something! 🙏🙏
Holy smokes that looks wonderful - which one of your recipes do I make first. I am bingeing on your videos this morning.

@@ChefJackOvens you're an awesome chef mate and your lasagne looks beyond delicious just like the rest of your yummy recipes. But uhm..... there's just one thing I've missed how much dried oregano do I put in because I can't find the link sorry. If only KZread could've left it at the top of the page to make it easier to find them "what a wonderful world this would be" 🤣. But anyway keep up the great work. Cheers. Kev from NZ. 😀👌
