The problem with just saying "acting aggressively" is that describing Joe's actions by those two words alone makes the testimony, or account of Joe's behavior, sound vague. There was nothing said about Joe lunging towards Eddi, nor his wife and kids. He could have been vehemently pacing back and forth, or left to right, while keeping his distance from Eddi. Did Eddi even tell Joe that he needed to keep himself away from himself and his family? The details provided were that Eddi stated that he was going to (expletive) Joe up and murder him. With those words being said, that shows clear intentions of murder, and would constitute issuance of a threat. Second, when the 911 dispatcher asked the wife if either she or Eddi were rendering any aid to Joe, the wife's reply was no. I find Eddi's actions to have been hot-headed, irrational, and appearing that he's waited several years to a couple decades to use his firearm on someone. At what point could Joe have had the ability, opportunity, and intent (all put together) to cause serious bodily harm or death to Eddi and his family?

I agree with the father’s need to keep his children from witnessing what the man was doing… But, I’d imagine that it just might be a bit worse for them to witness their father murdering someone by blasting them full of lead. I understand why he did what he did, but it’s just terrible that he’s now given his children something even worse to have to endure-- the memory of their father being thrown in prison for the murder they had to watch him commit. I would hope that our justice system stops it's preoccupation with letting criminals run all over us and start following the laws that keep us safe. Whilst, I agree that the children should have never been exposed to any of it, having Daddy rush in the house to hide from this aggressor would be a far worse thing for them to see. It appears that the criminal would be alive had he not decided to expose himself in front of kids. In other words, if not for the actions of the aggressor, he would be alive. Murder is worse than "allegedly" exposing yourself and to think this so-called father murdered a man in front of his kids too is really disturbing. I'm also not saying if this man did expose himself that he didn't commit a crime but come on.. people trying to justify this are really sick too.

There were other ways to de-escalate the situation. Its premeditated once you speak it into existence. Eddie could have told his children close your eyes, turn around, stayed in the vehicle, left somewhere else until the authorities arrived and handled the situation. The dad's outrage is understandable. But, the loss of his father, being imprisoned for years is worse for his son. I think any parent would want to do the same. But, this dad reacted without thinking it through. The impact on his family now is devastating.
