When i watched that video of Larry beating the Swiss guy, he was really smashing him as he realized he was much stronger but also taking his hand, I strangely felt a swell of pride to see how far he has come.
Larry's journey has been really amazing, especially how humble he's been all the way through taking beatings after beatings (by some of the best pullers in the world) on the chin without his ego getting in the way. Also broadcasting this to the whole world. Ray how often are you in contact with Larry, coaching him online? Are you his coach officially? Would you like to be?

The rise of Larry... Rise of armwrestling in general. Strange how this period of lockdown was finaly good for the sport. Will you go to dubai for the end of may coach ? This event will obviously drive armwrestling to another level !
Im glad you are helping Larry. I think in the beginning he was getting advice from alot of top armwrestlers but it seemed a little confusing cause they all have there own style but you get him to the basics and go from there. You seem like a great coach from what i see.

When I was young I broke my humerus bone due to a cyst inside the bone that made the walls thin. Multiple times they have drilled in, sucked the cyst out and then filled it with cortisone I believe. The outer wall of my humerus is outrageously thick now (4x the rest of the bone) but the inner wall is questionable... I really want to arm wrestle but being without my main arm doesn't seem fun.
@Hallowed_Ground

You're gonna have problems with that arm even if you don't armwrestle it seems, so there might not be anything to lose. Besides, and who knows, armwrestling might be the exact kind of stress and stimulus your body needs to decide to heal itself. There's lots of evidence of people who drop something on their toe, and the nail grows back 3x as thick, or burn victims who were previously bald suddenly growing a bunch of hair where they got burned. Stress and stimulus can and often does cause the body to heal and repair. Food for thought.

You can almost "see" Larry thinking and implementing the mechanics of the sport, while he is doing it! He's getting the hang of it! 1.5 yrs he will be known in the world of arm wrestling, for sure! Ray, you will have to take the "blame " for Larry's fame as a arm wrestler! Is it weird that i feel a sense of pride when he pins people?
Is there a link to the “coach ray program” video or can someone explain what it is?
If there was a way to invest in Larry being an arm wrestler I’d be all in.
I feel like he would benefit from having you there for 2-3 months to be at every practice to coach him on how to activate everything and how to adjust. The question is how we can start a fundraiser to get you there for that!

@3:55- why is the left hand usually more coordinated than your dominant hand? Any ideas? You said it was an armwrestling thing 💪🏼 you’ve got me interested!
@justaguyfromreddit
3 жыл бұрын
My 2 cents are: there is a biomechanical thing about how much a move can be precise ore strong. Usually the bigger the muscle the more imprecise it is. My hypothesis is that since his right arm is stronger it COULD be that it is somewhat less precise. But it is a complete random thought based on the number of muscle fibers that are in the muscle.
@corycook9355

I think it’s mainly we don’t use our weaker arm for many things so when you learn to arm wrestle with it your teaching it from scratch and all it knows how to do well is arm wrestle.

Denis is right handed but his left hand feels stronger and more cordinated. He said that it's due to the fact that the left is used less in life so the tendons are conserved and healed in a better way than the right hand, that's because the right hand is used for everything daily, more than the left.
@northpaul3276

Thats exactly my case and not only on table or with coordination, for some reason i never even experience pain from weights in left wrist although half of that load is enough to give me pain in right wrist. I believe the reason is left less stressed from everyday life.

Yes that is the case. My left and right are nearly the same in strength. So if I barely win or lose to someone on right, I easily destroy them on left because their left is very weak compared to their right.
