I feel like Larry is a much slow learner compared to Khaled. Larry got so many good teachers( Devon, Michael, Levan, Russian teachers, British teachers) teaching him how to train for months. And look at Khaled. Just one random Arab guy teaches him and on the table he beats Larry almost all the time.

@Just Chill I agree. But If you watch the other videos with Khaled in it, whether it's Devon, Michael or Levan tells Larry to copy a move, Khaled copies it straight away. Larry is getting all the necessary advice and training from different sources but not able to transfer any of his powerlifting strength on the table yet which can be quite disappointing to watch as a fan😣 I hope he's gonna get there one day.

Makes me laugh this - in any sport you ask a top guy how he does something often he will not be able to explain varieties of technique quite as good or in some cases not at all. Its probably a more a natural thing to just do things for a lot of the top guys in any sport (most of the time they learned mainly from kinesthetic (doing) approach in which they usually form their own style thro experience of what works for them...whilst a trained coach like this guy breaks it down more and explains the process better. Often a top guy going into coaching has to learn more about how to coach others himself - you never stop learning or learning how to explain.

@@seanlennon5986 Of course he will be a good teacher but there are those that say this is the best way or this is my way and only look up to people who they perceive are better than them - the best thing about mike that he shows here is that even after 30 years of doing it and being the best in the world he is open to learning new methods and coaching techniques from others who are not as successful or as good as him in his own sport. When he actually does have the right to say otherwise because of who he is which is the best in the world/ You never stop learning in life - this is a mark of a humble guy with a 'reflective' personality and this is what makes people in general become better versions of themselves. Some people only take advice from people they think are better and its wrong to discount others - good advice is good advice from whatever the source. This guy might not be the best arm wrestler in the world but he is a great coach because he immediately spotted Larry's weakness and could demonstrate how to improve upon it.

larry bro i love you man truly i do but your probably the slowest learner ive ever witnessed in my life, but im glad your still grinding staying committed to it the process has been slow but it’s obvious you’ve come so far keep grinding man i love how interested you’ve been in getting better at arm wrestling! its been one of my favorite sports for a while keep it coming!!! coach ray is incredible btw

I think there is definitely something to what Coach Ray says in terms of variation. I think it's important to have those core armwrestling lifts that focus the most important angles/vectors, but doing a healthy variety stimulates growth and prevents you from becoming too comfortable/adapted.

I think Larry's biggest challenge is keeping his arm tight to his body because he has a bigger arm muscles and that affects the form they wanted him to do.

I feel so many people focus on Larry's progress in terms of natural talent or not, getting better but then getting "worse", who to listen too etc.. I think this is the same as with any highly technical activity: when you start as a rookie, you can not process all the different steps involved in the full movement. I have seen this in many cases - like in archery. You will need to combine just doing the whole thing to get a feel for it, AND eventually start breaking down the different details of it, getting advise and info from many angles (poeple/theories) - and at that stage you will always become worse at it as a whole, but then eventually when you start putting all the details together again you will improve massively. But it takes time, and you need to stay cool and not be demotivated when your overall performance drops, because usually this just means that you are evolving! I firmly believe that Larry WILL eventually "unlock" his tru potential, and he will be a potential threat to any armwrestler!
