ML/DL is a part of AI, but it isn't AI. A lot of these people can't see the difference. Can it carry out tasks and navigate through problems without human interaction.

This is insanity at its best (or worse, depending on one's perspective). Take it as you wish, robots, metal, plastic, digital AI, AND humanoids are the worst ever trash created by crazy inventors, closely monitored and adapted by the military, big corporate conglomerates and the power hungry institutions, none of which have the interest of humanity at heart. This can only end either in the last breath of the human race and a robots star wars scenario or a big bang marking the end of life on Earth. Welcome to the age of trash technology.

Remember though it's just a buzz word like cloud. It's just programming. Nothing is really "Intelligent" about it if you didn't know. It's all programming, and algos with large training data nothing more. Buzz word.

Capitalism is disruption. Capitalism is about making a better product at a better price. AI is Capitalism. What we need is some Universal Guaranteed Income.

@PatRisberg Yes. Arguably there is a downside to vast humanity having no productive work. But that is a different argument than that people will live in poverty because there are too few jobs. Literal poverty will not need to exist, but poverty of character, might.
