Larry's Saab 9000 review
This is my review of my Saab 9000 Aero that I purchased brand new in 1995 and owned for 27 years when I shot the video in March 2022. It is done in the style of how Doug DeMuro reviews cars, but it is not sanctioned by him in any way.
Unfortunately my microphone shut off on my drive, so the audio is not ideal.
It was my quick first pass on capturing my thoughts. Not my best work, but hope it captured details on the Saab 9000 Aero

Amazing car. Probably one of the best Saabs ever made
Great rewiev of a fantastic car, in my opinion the best Saab and one of the best cars of its era. I own a 1994 9000 Aero, will never sell it. Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪

Jealous!
This car is almost the exact spec to my '96 Aero, Mine was just originally black, Interior is exact! Wish my seats still looked this good though! Wonderful review.
Expect some more viewers Larry. I shared this great video with my local Saabclub buddies🇳🇱👍
You have really have kept it in great condition! Fantastic car.
Another 9000 aero owner enthusiast here. I have owned my 1997 9000 aero for 20yrs absolutely love the car. I have a few other Saabs but the 9000 aero is my favourite.
Best Saab ever! Love the 9000 Aero ❤️
Great video. Thank you. In response to your last comment though, I personally wouldn’t be so enthused to see what Saab would do in todays automotive world, partly because what everyone is doing today, (and has only done increasingly) is to simply do what everyone else is doing, and SAAB before it’s demise was already traveling down that very path of ubiquity in exchange for some hope of wider public acceptance and sales. Now OLD SAAB, that’s a different story.. and I would love to see what OLD SAAB would do today. The old SAAB that built the best possible cars THEY knew how to build, developing technologies that THEY found compelling, irrespective of where or what the rest of the industry was paying attention to. In fact, in todays world, I’d like to see just about anyone sort of take that approach again. Basically an approach that isn’t driven by the bottom line of the dollar. But it would likely take some wisening up of the people to allow an approach like that to sustain some and be successful.
While I understand the die-hard following of the 900 series --- the 9000 was by far my favorite.
Great car to repair as well and an excellent on line community.
Loved my 9K, have a 9-5 today.

Same here and as much as I love my 9-5, I’d swap it for a 9000 of equal miles in a heartbeat
Larry, this is such an awesome video. I was in contact with Bradley before he listed on cars and bids, I was wanted it so bad. My dream car, in the absolute perfect colors with a loving (and meticulous record keeping) single owner. I wish I had been able to meet his asking price, but am glad I am just now seeing this video or I wouldn't of been able to control myself on the auction!! So cool man you did an incredible job of keeping it in great shape and completely stock! Cheers
The best car ever made! I miss mine ;(

I learned a lot. Thank you so much for sharing this excellent video.
Great video. I just got one a day after you uploaded.
I own a ‘93 9000 Aero and am the second owner since 19,000K. I have 200,000K on the clock and it purrs like a content turbo-charged kitten. The Recaros are unbeatable for long cruises and this yacht can cruise. The Aero (not the so-called Super-Aero) wheels have polished lips that are incredibly beautiful made by Ronal. What a car. Love it. Gotta replace the headliner, and work on the AC which seems to be eluding me. The 5-speed slave cylinder has been replaced. I may replace the turbo charger to add some life. Change the oil every 3500 since I bought it from the amazing SAAB collector in northern New Hampshire. He never drove it in any precipitation. It was spotless. And for 30 years, It’s still pretty spotless.
Nice video thank
@11:15: to fully fold down the seats in a 9000 you first have to pull up the seat cushion on the rear bench, it pulls out and folds forward. Very ingenious. And what a fantastic example of a 9000 aero, those seats look incredible.

yes, but this only works well for the standard rear seat. the Aero rear seat, with the big sidebolstering, does not fold flat very nicely.
thank you sir, my dream car after the 9-3 viggen, would love to own a 9000 CS in my life
Thanks for the vid. Decent and modest view point.
Beautiful 9000!! Aren't they lovely?! I'll be getting mine out soon. Greetings from Canada!
I swapped an Aero interior to my '95 CDE. Best seats in any car I've ever sat in.
ive got a 2003 95 aero wagon, best car ever made
Nice Aero!! Best Regards from Sweden Michael.S
Miss my 9000 aero . The only thing I didn’t like was the 6 monthly warrant of fitness checks required by the Newzealand government on cars earlier than 2000.
Please note that this car just sold on Cars and Bids today. Congrats to CarLucas! There are some additional video's posted and some good commentary. carsandbids.com/auctions/rkyE4dPO/1995-saab-9000-cs-aero?.
I had 2 9000s. The seats were super comfy. The ride was wonderfully plush without being a Buick boat and tons of room. The only problems I had were clutch and master cylinder died before 125k miles. The biggest issue was the unreliable ACC. It's unfix-able and not replaceable.
Good review. We had a 1995 also. It was a very nice car with great build quality. Later cars are like a joke.
Great video. There's a lack of 9000 videos on KZread. Those rear seats do fold flat by the way - you just need to flip the seat bases forward before lowering the back rests

Thank you for educating me about the seats. I owned the car for nearly 27 years, and really loved driving this car. I can only think of a couple of times that I tried to fold the seats down. The vast majority of the my ownership it was to use it on road trips with two passengers in the back seat, or if it was just my wife and I, the trunk was plenty large, so it never was a problem for me. What is great to know…it makes me feel better that the SAAB engineers did properly engineer this.

@@larrypaul8657 they did indeed. Theres even a piece which folds down from the underside of the seat base which pushes the folded backrest flat. At least my 96 aero does - earlier cars might be a bit different

@@richsretrosI think they all did that. My 1991 9000 had that little thing that locked them all in place
Nice
i have a 92 or 91 aero its been in storage now for about 5 years indoor i love that car it needs some work it starts and drives but i Know when i parked it it needed a a/c line and i think it was passenger axle i had a few year ago change all but transmission mounts . i was hoping to fix it all the way back up but I've notice its been a little hard to find these cars now days.i always wanted to figure out how to get the blow off sound back when switching gears it stopped a long time ago i never did figure it out but if i go back to working on it i will bring it back to its glory.
Great video - had one of these in college- still miss the turbo sound on chilly mornings
I have 1992 9000 very rare
Fantastic car. Although one thing i will say it definitely doesnt have a reverse synchro. It is very easy to grind reverse in these cars and the saab manual even says to select 1st then reverse aide in selecting reverse gear.
I had a 1989 9000 CDE manual (turbo 175bhp) and even though by todays standards that's not much it went like a stabbed rat with that high pressure turbo!
These 9000 Aero are very rare and expensive in Sweden. Hard to find for under 10000 $

SAAB 9000 MOTORE ETERNO 👍
Leave it to Saab to have the wherewithal to think about the side reverse lights, can't believe no other manufacturer does that now. GM completely ruined Saab & didn't learn anything from once having them in their stable. SMFH

The 9-3 and 9-5 lineup are actually very fine cars. There isn't much GM in either one.
Direct Ignition not Injection!!!😂
waht this fabkin sound
Gugaro style
Similar to lancia and fiat
urub they r tell now we cant understand wahy they making cars in big problems in fixing
These camera angles are terrible.
this car big problems ar thatd mantinanas
GM made Saab stop making cars, take an Opel, an compare thet to a another GM car.
Doug Demouro ripoff
Do your thing, but dont copy Doug, then its get fake and weird. Im a saab specialist from sweden, i love the car and info, but be more casual about it. It dosent have to be like doug.
