Thanks for this interview Eric. I am a bit of a sycophant when it comes to Larry. He's was intelligent back in the day and is still very intelligent. A good man. Another smart, good man is Joey Ansah. It'd be nice to hear his story too.

Gotta say Zero Gravity inspired me as a teenager in his first few years of martial arts. I'd later go on to meet and train with Xango, Berinjela and Malandro. Larry you're a legend! I used your site to help learn macaquinho too!

It's so cool to see Larry on here. I was just telling some people about Zero Gravity recently and showed off some of their movies. I remember watching them before youtube back when we had to download the video files too. its also funny he mentioned being obsessed with butterfly twists. Its because of him and the crew I started learning how to do them behind my family's pizza shop. Never quite landed them right. Lots of falls. lots of pain. So glad you got him on here. Im glad he's doing well and spending his time on things he enjoys. Crazy how much we can shift around throughout life.

In an alternate timeline I would love to see Larry's martial arts film concept based on a world where the dominant language is through non-verbal martial movement. Maybe infuse some existentialism, absurdism, a shot of Schopenhauer, and whatever other philosophical literature he read during his depressive era and what you potentially got is a pretty damn interesting avant-garde action premise right there.

Oh snap, it's Larry! I wonder how's he doing these days? I love watching Zero's Damn series and "Yeah, Sure, Okay" back in the my teens. HK vs USA are one of the funny ones I come back to everytime.

Damn, i remember emailing zero gravity asking how i can be like them, the email started out as "Yo dude," and basically telling me whatever stunts i was gonna do to practice the hell out of it lol.

1:13:55 wow, he totally had a moment that was a hybrid of the quitting scene from Half Baked and the urban legend of Toshiro Mifune getting hired as an actor after getting mad at an audition when he was trying to interview as a camera operator

I remember the days of AOL, sitting at home and at school at their PC's at break time on dial up internet, checking out "Chimp Capoeira" moves and practicing at my local park with a friend. Interesting Larry got into Capoeira through Tekken 3, i never liked the Tekken games so i missed that popularising conduit for Capoeira, for me i had first seen Capoeira i think on a music video, and i became obsessed, i saw it on a sports channel (Euro Sports) too, it fascinated me. Then finding Larry's or should i say, "Escovinha's" websites and obsessively looking through as much as i could to find information and inspiration. I can totally identify with what Larry said about the film industry, although i only ever worked on a few crappy student and amateur indie films, nowhere near the level he has, it was enough to make me never want to go back. He's right about the politics, plus there's so much backstabbing, elitism even at the lowest levels of film making, it's quite disgusting on a social level to be honest. Glad Larry has found more meaningful things in his life, that so cool he’s good at making and fixing stuff with his hands, I think that will be useful in the coming years.

@EricJacobusOfficial 1:36:28 Is it okay to use this clip to create my comedic response for Larry and what he always believed Winnipeg is like in his and my discussions?
