Larry Hoover has been incarcerated since 1973. At this rate, it’s highly unlikely he’ll ever see the outside world again. This former leader of Chicago’s Gangster Disciples is currently serving multiple life sentences at the prison known as ADX Florence, which has a reputation for being one of the most psychologically punishing correctional facilities in the entire world. After being charged with serious criminal activities in the 1970s, Larry would later be convicted of running the Gangster Disciples from inside his prison cell. That was in 1997 and every single day since then, Larry has been forced to spend 23-hours in solitary confinement. His case is widely regarded as hopeless because in order to be released he would need to obtain pardons at both the state and federal levels. Well, in order to accomplish just that, hip-hop superstars Drake and Kanye West recently set aside their widely publicized differences to throw a benefit concert in Larry’s name and raise awareness over his plight. So, how exactly did Larry Hoover’s reputation grow even larger from behind bars? And just why have Kanye and Drake teamed up to see him released? Those answers and more in our latest episode of Before They Were Famous.

Inmates that have been released from ADX super duper secure units ( not what its officially called but the place in the prison where El Chapo is kept) anyways they say that in the inside of the units and in the hallways, everything is so white that it stings your eyes from how bright it is. Its so bright because of how clean everything is. The sensors, doors and guards don't even let a speck of dust in, let alone a fly. They said the isolation makes you crazy and that every now in then you think you are in Heaven. But then you realize that you are just in a very clean version of Hell. They unlock your cell and the lights reflecting off the white mirror like floor give you this strange eerie feeling not seeing something so clean before.

Praise & honor! Truly everything Mr. Larry B. Hoover Sr. is enduring revolves around racism, influence, intelligence; & most importantly,; the infringing or encroachment of political issues. In order to know what a political prisoner is we must 1st understand "Pol·i·tics" - the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power. Given the definition of politics we can conclude that a political prisoner is one who par takes in politics but was seen as radical resulting with imprisonment. There is a particular pattern that has been seen within the history of America for African Americans, minorities, and the less fortunate; as all our spokesmen/leaders have been assassinated or imprisoned. Think of M.L.K & Malcom X, then realize that what Mr. Larry B. Hoover Sr. is experiencing is no more than what all political leaders for minorities experienced! Overall; the government has violated & broken soo many constitutional laws in this matter; but have the audacity to call someone else a criminal? Surely this matter is an outrage, & what they are doing to him they wouldn't do to their own kind; neither have they ever in history (if you can find a rebuttal to that be my guest)! His mind frame is no more than one of reality, viewing the issues of inequality, oppression, & the lack of civilization. Mr. Hoover Sr. amongst many other great men, understood the times & seen where they were headed; & prepared as many as possible for the times to repeat themselves (look at the current days & the things that are on the rise). We know who the real enemies are but you will not see the enemy without paying attention to the motives, intentions, & mind frames of mankind. OS - NTMLS - #FREEMRLARRYHOOVERSR - also stay up on local rules, statutes of your state (civil/criminal procedure) & your constitutional rights as citizens of the US; utilize them before they tare them down as they are already making effort to do so...

I don’t think he deserves 200+ years, but let’s not act like he’s not responsible for pushing one of the most detrimental drugs in the black community. On a legendary scale at that. If this video was factual, even after he “changed”… he was making 300k a week of off crack….WHILE BEING LOCKED UP He seems more like a cancer to the community. I’m open to having my mind changed and respectful dialogue.

I think the argument more than anything is the fact that he should not be at Supermax. His crime allowed him time in a state prison. But they said that he was still running the organization behind the state prison walls. But no one could catch him to prove it. So to catch him, they put little microphones behind the visitor badges of people that would come and see him, and that's how they caught him and he was sent to the ADX Supermax which is where they hold the Unibomber, the Oklahoma City bomber, El chapo, the 9/11 terrorists and Jeff Fort. Most people here in Chicago are just pushing for him to be put back into the Illinois state penal system
