Lyrics:
My paycheck could be bigger
And cold beer could be cheaper
Well I’d sure love a new truck
But I can’t sell this beater
My freezer needs more deer meat
My grass could use more rain
But even on the hard days
Man I can’t complain
I’m still living, breathing
I love the job I’m leaving
And I just hit three green lights in a row
On my way home
And I’ve got a family that loves me
Someone looking out up above me
And I still got some blue skies left to go
I’m the Webster definition of what a lucky man is
When I take a look at all the things I take for granted
Sometimes when I get home
All I wanna do
Is kick back on the sofa
And kick off these work boots
Too tired to chuck the pigskin
Tell a story, tuck the kids in
And stay up with the missus
But I’m going to tonight
Well I’m still living, breathing
I love the job I’m leaving
And I just hit three green lights in a row
On my way home
And I got a family that loves me
Someone looking out up above me
And I still got some blue skies left to go
I’m the Webster definition of what a lucky man is
When I take a look at all the things I take for granted
Well I’m still living, breathing
I love the job I’m leaving
And I just hit four green lights in a row
I’m almost home
To a family that loves me, yeah there must be
Someone looking out up above me
And I still got some blue skies left to go
I’m the Webster definition of what a lucky man is
When I take a look at all the things I take for granted
When I take a look at all the things that I take for granted

The harder you work, the luckier you get is what my Grandpa always says. Don't give up and you'll come out ahead. Nearly half the world live on less than $5.50 a day. You got this.

With tears running down my face. I lost my wife of 30+ years, i hope I was a good husband, dad, friend, but we started out poor and work was all I knew gave all for the family and I guess God blessed a lot, my kids love dad and my wife for some reason loved and supported me being away and when I was home, well it was home, love and home cooked meals. Blessed? YES miss her....................the pain is palatable. I will hold her again.

I lost my grandpa pass 3 years ago it get easier day by day I still want to call him one more time to say I love him but I can’t because Covid took him. I was with him, my aunt, and uncle on vacation and he would not let my uncle pay for anything on till we were at a fudge store because we distracted him. He thought me how to throw a football I still throw a ball with my uncle and it remind me of him. I would do anything to be with him one more time. No one even talk to my great grandfather. My aunt going to have a great granddaughter and he doesn’t know. It sad but he doesn’t care. I still call from time to time. Exactly during football season because we both like the same time. I know my grandpa has the best seat of the Alabama game. So roll tide roll.

Dont ever take life for granted. I had a wonderful job made great money. Hard work but i did it. Until back in August 2023. Couldn't breathe well at work left work and went to the er. I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I am 100% disabled now and i get a very small disability check and im about to have to sell my house. Never take what you have for granted. Yes im terminal but im fighting it like hell. Please God be with me. Life is very hard for ne mentally, physically, and financially. Its a depressing life now.

I happen to hear this just as I pulled on the job site. It hit me just how much I have... Food on our table. Roof over our heads. A soft bed and pillow to lay my head/body on after a long day. Our health! My wife, kids and I are all healthy! I have running water. People don't take a second thought each time they turn that faucet. I'm guilty of it as well, but pointing fingers. I'm the type that will always look at myself before I look to other people. All I'm saying is that this song has summed up life in general. Just how much we overlook. We don't slow down these days to make time for family, friends, etc. It's all about that next dollar!!! Or, your phone is blowing up bc everyone is calling you, wanting you to do something for them and mostly for free!!! Sorry about the rant and being so long, it really hit me just how fast life goes by and all that WE TAKE FOR GRANTED! I vow this day to slow down and "smell the roses," as the ole saying goes. Thanks @LarryFleet for the reminder and a great song! GOD BLESS!!!
