You could try again with the mortar infantry but also the radio backpack, which allows you to use magnifying glasses or firecrackers to directly melt enemy units in a small area. You can also call down paratroopers to e.g. kill an undefended factory.

You should make factories and build power plants on them early on if you have the chance.

If you spam mortars in the plant basins under the windows they can bombard the enemy without getting hit. And the ones on the ground can cover them.

Hey Daley, you could try to beat this level with the pool ball strat where you constantly die and then just spam bombs and magnifying glass on top of the enemy bases. That might take a long time, but I think it will make a really cool video!

Id have focused on air superiority. Lots of AA. And there's often alot of high ground that would be a good place for mortars. Then put anti tank weapons on the ground. Otherwise, i think patience is the name of the game. You spend alot of money on one vehicle type and send them into impossible situations. Also, forget those builders. They seem like they're just wasting your plastic.

Try building the max number of spawners which is things like medical tents, army tents, and vehicle tents.

You want to see a proverbial David vs Goliath?? Okay..so, one Executor Class Imperial Battle ship against a fully (TMP style) Constitution Class Starship! Launch all the tie fighters you want. Their Laser Cannons won't even penetrate the Connie's Nav Deflector! Many of them will just explode and disintegrate if they crash into the main deflectors. The Huge Laser Cannons on the Executor would put little to no drain on the deflectors. If an Executor managed to get one or two shots in an unshielded Connie, it might leave some nasty scorch marks. The Connie Starship could just position herself just a bit out of range of the Executor's weapons and launch a single Photon Torpedo! It wouldn't even need to actually strike the Star Destroyer! Just detonate a few hundred yards away and it would blow an entire section off. If the torpedo didn't get the main reactor, A couple of Phaser Shots could hit it. Thus vaporizing the Executor along with everyone aboard! Even a Pre-Refit (TOS) Constitution could run rings around any Imperial Cruiser and easily blast it out of existance!
