Brazilian legislation preserves the environment much more than Europeans and North Americans. Mr. Bolsonaro is responsible for upholding this preservation law and he is doing an excellent job. In fact, Brazilian farms have been working hard to increase their productivity rather than using new areas (clearing or burning forests). You should be more careful to avoid lying remarks.

Only about 1% of Brazilian soybean is produced in the Amazon region, and many pictures of soybean you showed is actually coffee, you showed the reunion of two rivers as if it was result of erosion, a fake fact, it is normal 2 rivers coming from different types of soils show different colors, for different reasons. If you are not intentionally dishonest, you need some advice.

Hi Daniel - I wholeheartedly agree. It is to say the least an unmitigated disaster. I have seen with my own eyes some of the destruction in the Amazon. Moreover we often forget that this destruction is not just accelerating, but it has been going on for hundreds of years. The vast farmlands we see in Europe among so many other places in the world were in many cases covered by forests three to four hundred years ago.

The competitors are trying to slow down the Brazilian agroindustry using the Amazon deforestation as a pretext. Brazil has one of the lowest forest and natural environment preservation index in the world. In terms of arable land, Brazil has only 8% of its land dedicated to agriculture. US has 18%. China 20%. France 58%. India 61%. Brazil’s ability to harvest two to three crops a year in the same plot of land makes it unique compared with other grain and soybean-producing countries. Brazil has about 12 per cent of the world's surface water resources and one of the most fertile lands in the world. Brazil is now a global agricultural powerhouse feeding one in every 4 people in the world.

You can't say they are a large farm when they're renting out their land, then they're just landowners. Renting is not farming. That's like saying a landlord with an apartment complex has a mansion because it has a lot of square footage. You say these farms are some of the biggest in the world but I can list off 10 that are larger than them just in my province; if you truly want the largest farms in the world you need to head to Australia and western Canada; that's where the biggest farms in the world actually are. Nah, 85% of Original Rainforest still there, no country in the world have a forest as much preserved like Amazonia. What outside media always forget to say: Theres a 20% of outer border from Amazon that is intended for Farms (its called Deforestation Arc) On that 20% of forest, not even 50% was already deforested On top of that EVERY farm in Brazil has to preserve at lease 20% of original trees in their fields Plus that 20% aren't part of riversides protection (30~100 yrds each side depeding on water font width), meaning some farmers need to preserve up to 80% of original forest inside their fields. The main reason for actual deforesting in Amazon comes from outside south america: - Noble wood to make furniture in Asia and Europe - Hardwoord for houses in USA - Heavy metal for the solar panel and batteries and believe of not, Sand to microchips manifacture. Most of it come from illegal deforestation and the government from the countries that receive the most of it, does't nothing to stop it to go into their borders. The region that our farms are centrated the most are in South, South East, Central West and Northeast of the countries, with others biomes than Amazonia (around 87% of Legal amazon is on North region of Brazil or other countries).
