Nicely done Eric. I was doing some watch stuff today and incidentally had my Citizen NY0040 sitting next to my Seestern 62mas. I thought my eyes were playing tricks as they looked exactly the same size, despite the citizen being 5mm in diameter larger at 42mm. Citizen do this very well!

Citizen are quite clever with their use of sharply angled lugs, I have noticed this before. I have a 40mm Citizen dress watch that would not wear properly on my 6.5 inch wrist without the short and steeply downturned lugs. Some Swiss brands should take a leaf out Citizen's book when it comes to lug design. I prefer the aesthetics of plain, solid watches like the blue dial Corso you reviewed last year to this Peyton (chronographs are not really for me), but the 3-hand versions look like a sound, no doubt hassle-free and affordable option. The 3-hand with the green dial would be my choice.

Good informative review 👍. The date is the achilles heel of the eco-drives, it was just as illegible on the one I owned, I presume the date wheel is behind the solar cell layer, so set too deep behind the dial.

I agree with you. The date window seems to be an issue on all light powered watches. They ares always inset too far.

Another super review Eric. I like it a lot, it is not the cheapest Citizen Eco-Drive but it looks decent value for what it is. Of course like most watches there are a couple of things that I would change, as the sub-dials and hands look to blend into one and not easy to read. Overall its very nice. Thanks for putting in the work, I like the new format and the photography is excellent.

What a weird choise of color for the sub dial hands. I can hardly see them in your video. Not a watch I would buy. My only Citizen watch is the promaster skyhawk blue angels version which I really love. Good review video though!

Looks gigantic like an Invicta.

It would have been better had there been white hands in the subdials.

Probably so. A little more contrast would not have hurt, that’s for sure.

Citizen has no clue about date windows. All are too small.
