Large medical grade Nitrogen tanker escorted by police cars and motorcycles
A large medical grade nitrogen tank makes it's way down the wrong side of the A54 escorted by Cheshire Police in Winsford, UK
The 225 tonne nitrogen tank, belonging to Air Liquide, was empty. The wide load was 49m long, 6.5m high and 4.9m wide and was transported by Collett Ltd. Due to the abnormally large size, police were available to shut down junctions and escort the convoy down the wrong side of the A54 through the town centre. Various staff were on hand to cut trees, lift BT cables and move roadside furniture to allow for the safe passage of the vehicle.
The heavy load is 3 of 4 to pass through the counties of Cheshire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire over a 6 week period. Due to the difficult movement of the abnormal load and the fact it wont fit on motorways, the journey of each load took a week to travel over 100 miles from Ellesmere Port in Cheshire to Coleshill in Warwickshire.

I'm no genius when it comes to things like this but i imagine its alot easier to move this tank to its destination while empty, then full of liquid nitrogen

Cheshire Police look all over the place, whereas if you watch Staffordshire Police they look so much more organised.

Cory-Jack1 ..... I saw one of these between Rugeley and Cannock, and I'm pretty sure there was just one Staffordshire police car racing ahead to close off the junctions. Can't remember seeing any bikes. Could be wrong.

U wondered whats the ANPR interceptor, in netherlands the ANPR is hidden checkpoint right after border, theres always police bike unit, if you have not dutch license plate, you may get took in by the bike unit.
