I'm hearing fireworks going off for hours every night the past few nights. I wonder if that could cause the fires.

Right? It's up to the city ordinances. There should not be fireworks but for one day independence day. 1) its really too dry. 2) it's cruelty to animals) and 3) it becomes a nuisance. One day , ONE DAY FOR FIREWORKS!

We do live in an area where fireworks are just a terrible idea. There is nothing sacred (even though it is traditional) about fireworks when you live in a wildfire area. Celebrating in other ways is the smart way to go.

I live near 35th and Myrtle and there was a big fire this afternoon at about 3:00pm a couple of streets west of me.

As a retired FF...good job on attacking it

the smoke messing with the frequency of the camera. hope there wasn't anybody injured. praying hard right now.

There shouldn't be any private fire works this 4th of July ,because of the dry vegetation in Phoenix that will cause more fires in the Phoenix Area. The heat and dry weather will causes even more fires. Anyone caught with fireworks will be charged with very large fines due to the fires they will cause and probably have maybe even caused already. Please have a safe cool pool party's this 4th of July. Only go to safe places where the fire department is at for any safety fireworks. Please don't use fireworks yourself and enjoy safe fireworks that are provided, held for the public. Let's all enjoy a safe 4th of July without fires.

So a little palm tree caught fire and burned a block of home to the ground... SOUNDS SUSPECT!! They catch fire here in Las Vegas, but just the tree burns!! Not the entire neighborhood!!! This is deliberate
