So thats where all the cheap parts come from! Man, if these guys had machines, they'd be dangerous. All the saftey precautions are being followed I see. Fun to watch!
Such skillful hands, these people are nothing short of artists in my opinion.. I'm an American, for decades we've been led to believe we are better than literally every other culture that exists, I'm no longer even sure if that was ever really true or not, but it certainly isn't true in my mind anymore. The entire planet is full of wonderful people, with so much wisdom to pass down . I'm a metal worker, mostly sheet metal ( tinner) , and I worry that the 30+ years experience I have will die with me as I have yet to find anyone really willing to put in the work needed to learn the skills I possess. I actually talked my own son outta doing what I do tho, my occupation is in the top 10 deadliest jobs list. . Anyway, these people are awesome in my eyes.. fantastic work 👏👏👏

I do things with my hands that most men haven't a clue how to do.. That utter crap you're smelling is your breath..

Clearly it is NOT a piston for an engine but a larger compressor. I am not convinced I would ever install a piston of this quality in any type of compressor. But thumbs up for sandals and molten iron.

Nah, sandals are ok…this is aluminum
@johanea
Жыл бұрын
@@XD-te6vj Not so sure my friend since it has a lot of impurities typical of cast iron when poured into the crucible, the scrap they use to melt is brown plus the chips coming of the lathe when they machine it looks like typical cast iron. Aluminum on the other had doesn't corrode and becomes brownish, has very little slag and the chips when machining would be more like strings. :)

A fabric tape measure is simply the height of machining science! To produce useable product, using sort of primitive methods, these guys must be good!

Many of the things around us can be made using primitive technology. But think of how much labor time would be wasted doing that. This is the reason poor countries remain poor. People spend a week on tasks which can be done in a single day.

Super cool! Amazing job. Never seen a piston like this! Curious to know, what kind of engine this piston goes in?
lot of bare toes around all that fire and heavy metal. OSHA would not approve. such incredible worksmanship.
Looks more like a air compressor or vapor compression refrigation compressor not an engine. Valves on the crown of the piston
I see them boys out there in them flip flops!!

It could be worse… they could be making it out of random pieces of old metal with no process control at all… oh wait… uh… 🤨

Cast iron is excellent for large piston and many engines & pumps & compressors use it. It holds the oil to help prevent wear and quight strong enough if designed correctly. Steel is a very very poor piston material but can be used with correct lubrication design but totally not suitable for a engine

Pakistani mechanics are very intelligent but our engineers are least interested in practical solutions. Unfortunately our governments behaviour is not encouraging so many reasons for hurdles. Departmental interventions, taxation rules etc. The moments one builds infrastructure tax department enters. Next time 'tooba'
