Asiatic Lions live in India… alongside Bengal Tigers. How is it the Royal Bengal Tiger is the apex predator of that forest? The “king” of that forest, if you will?

If a tiger can easily pull a dead carcass of average size that has a weight of 450-500 kg. Carrying the largest man alive is a lot easier. I remember the incident in the Indian zoo where the tiger easily carried the average-sized man by grabbing on its head while the tiger was sprinting.

The Siberian Tiger is the largesr of all cats, or ar least it has been. Recently though their sizes have decreased, due to changes to their environment, and the ever present human destruction of course. There is less food available and the numbers are coming down. They were as large as 320 kilograms for males or even more many years ago. As I understand, in Northern India, you can find Tigers that approach the size of Siberian Tigers these days. I'm guessing this magnificent cat in the video might be one such heavyweight cat.

All Bengal tigers , including the ones from South India are larger than average Siberian tigers. Siberian tigers were hunted to near extinction and lost their size , nowadays they rarely weigh more than 200KGs. Siberian tiger project ( 2005) recorded the average weight as 176.4KGs for males. While Male Bengals weight 220KGs in north india , 205KGs in South India , 230KGs in kaziranga, 207KGs in central and western India.

Its not overfed for sure it looks perfect…the way a full grown tiger in wild looks…and I don’t think its in captivity…btw I am sharing a link of a similar or maybe heavier tiger spotted in one of the national parks in India.

Also tigers have thicker chest and waistlines than lions probably that’s why it looks overfed to you….but when a tiger is actually overfed…it has loose fat hanging below its belly…a lot of it.

Tigers of Terai region in general are much bigger than Tigers from other parts of India. This one is from Dudhwa National park in North India.
