I've got a dell inspiron 3501 laptop. It stopped working randomly a few months ago and it hasn't turned on ever since. I have tested the power button and the button works, I have checked all of the ribbon cables with a multimeter, The battery and cable is supplying electricity to the board and the power adapters light doesn't turn off when plugged in. I have noticed an orange tint on some of the connectors and I'm wondering if that could be corrosion which could be causing the problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Could you share the name of tranzitor near that mosfet? My laptop short the mosfet and the tranzitor near that (PQ816)

i have a dell latitude 3420 when i plug it in the white light flashes for about 3 seconds then cuts off. i havent found anything to help with it

I have a Latitude with the same short. I found the exact same MOSFET and it was shorted on all pins. I replaced it and the short wasn't fixed. Now the replacement MOSFET is also shorted. What's going on?

this transistor just doesn’t deteriorate like that most likely you have a short circuit on the main line you need to try to supply a small current and look for a damaged capacitor you need to be well versed in electronics to do this

Hi I have a latitude e6430 my laptop wasn't power on then I repair the mother board in a random service centre . After 1 day the laptop go to same condition then the the service centre guy again repaired the mother board after that it's working for few hours, then I just power off the laptop then it's not power on again. I spent around 6000 INR on this repair including 3500 for repair+1000 for the display+1400 for the charger. Is this to be permanently fixed or not. Please reply

it's hard to answer such a question, I haven't seen the motherboard itself. a lot of changing parameters what was done in the first case of a malfunction what was done in the second case, the service that was doing the repair should analyze its actions and understand why this is happening.

bro have you tried taking of the battery and press on for 30 seconds and after that you put the battery again and see if its gonna solve? beacuse it happens to me everytime i took the battery off and it works for me
