Great video, saved my PC from the scrap heap. The initial issue arose from a water spill on the keyboard. The symptom was an error code of 3 long and 2 short flashes on the Caps Lock key. Using your alcohol (91%) and toothbrush technique, I scrubbed the solder traces on the SSD, RAM, and several other areas (not sure what their function is). I also removed the RAM boards and wiped off the contacts both on the chip and in the sockets. Powered up and it worked! Although with the naked eye there were no bridges, there must have been some subtle fouling of either the solder traces or contact points. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

I swear I had spilled wine from underneath and it wasn't turning on. I did this exact thing and cleaned the circuit panel and operated pins with a toothbrush and alcohol. Then blow dried it and it fired up and charged. I used to make circuit panels and do the soldering/gold plating so I was familiar with it somewhat. Thank you so much 🙏

Maybe the sio pins that got the water may have been some of the keyboard connections. That could short circuit the keyboard and power button if it was part of the keyboard.

Thank you so much for this. I spilled some juice on my laptop and I was so upset thinking I would have to pay stupid money to repair it or buy another one but, thanks to this video I was able to quickly unscrew the back and wipe up the liquid and it's good to go again. 🎉

@@belkdionne3154 most likely it should, when I unscrewed the back, I also had to unscrew a few small pieces to get in between the small spaces the juice spilled into, so make sure to take a picture before just in case you have to unscrew anything in the back so you don't lose track of where to screw everything back in place.

I have a three year old Overpowered OP-LP3 Laptop. Recently the glue holding the display on failed and the display tilted down applying pressure to the connector. Not wanting to work on it myself I brought it to a shop that reinserted the connector but the display would not light up. The repairman opened up the computer and found burnt components on the motherboard. Problem is we can't find a schematic for this machine in order to identify the failed parts. Do you have any idea with to find a schematic for this Overpowered OP-LP3 Laptop? Andy advise would be greatly appreciated. It's a beautiful machine and I really need to get it working. Thank you in advance.

thanks Sorin , in france similar screw driver is about 180 €. but with torque control ..very good videos as always , holidays never for you ? it is very bad to design a good computer and don't think of usage in normal life , when going outside in the rain you always think to protect the keyboard , and turn it upside down ...and here it kills the thing , bad design from HP , luckily they don't make phones nor printers , sorry they make expensive cartridges...HP is a bad company since profit margins have to go high to please investors ...hope they survive after complete management to be a clean green company !!

What about if it's FECAL water? There was an accident in my apartment building and sewage water burst out and went into a few units, one being mine where I had left a laptop on the kitchen floor. really appreciate your videos, I have the same water damage with 14s FQ0029 au with scaling on ribbon cables, I have cleaned what I can see, cleaned the super IU was like yours, now I have a light at the power port, 3 volts at the power on board, and battery now charging at 12volts, but not turning on, the power button light gives a faint flick while the light next to it flashes brightly after pressing the power button, any ideas guys?

My laptop in a new one.its a Ux325ea.it was removed due to ticking sound from the fan. I have an Asus laptop 55A model It was working fine but went off when I inserted a PC pad into a regular usb port I was using my mouse in it (just finished working on Archicad and decided to play PES), it instantly went off, and went into no power no charging.. at first I thought it was the pad but am still using the pad till now on another PC and it is working fine, so my confusion is what could really be the cause of the short on the PC ? And hence know a way out, I have tried removing RAMS to see if BIOS went back together with HDD but still no response

Sir i have same laptop with water damage. I cleaned everything but the issue is laptop is not turning on. It is charging upon connecting charger showing orange light near to charging port but when i press power on button power light blinks only on the right. Hey again we miss you its been longue time you didnt post a video, welcom again, need all your vidos succesed and failed repair :) i have asus gl504 with weird problem, the keyboard and lighting does'nt work, the keyboard flex is clean and in good condition, what will cause this problem?! Tried remove and replace keyboard, update and downgrade bios firmware, model gl504gm 314 and 313 version the keyboard doesnt work except power button, also i have problem, the serial number is not shown on bios menu, could you sell dump bios for that model with it own serial number from doner board?

Shut the front door. That simple? The difference between knowing what you're doing and a novice opening it and taking a peek lol i have a faulty motherboard here, I couldn't find obvious fault, no burn / popped items .. diagnosis was the motherboard due to residue streaks. I replaced the motherboard, boom, was like new. The motherboard i still possess, just pulled it out of a box. They have a pet hamster, I've seen it sitting on the top of his daughters pc, there's a vent / mesh on top, my guess was it peed on the pc an some fluid made its way on most likely while the pc was running. I decided id like to know how to diagnose and repair it. Its a good gaming board.

Nothing is free and nobody give anything for free. Better start thinking and u will find/make one. Get power supply board from scrap DVD device or video recorder, or TV. On that power supply you have 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 24V... then u can use voltage divider (potentiometer) to adjust to other voltages. And dont forget to limit current ;)
