Everyone has one and had to push me uphills. I had a hardtail and was ready to go full suspension so instead of buying a normal full suspension I went fully e bike with a trek rail

The tipping point for me was when we got a new Trek Rail demo in the shop, I took it out for a ride and was laughing as I was shooting up a nasty singletrack climb. After that I knew I had to an an EMTB to the garage.

6 years ago my normal MTB got stolen in Switzerland. At the time I didn't think much of e-MTB's but a friend of mine made me promise to try an e-MTB before I replaced the analogue one. I had the opportunity and came back with a grin so wide that the top of my head nearly fell off. 😂 So I got one and haven't regretted it since, and am much fitter because of it!

I'm going to be totally honest and say why I moved to ebikes... I hate going uphill and love going downhill. So buying an ebike actually made me love going uphill. I like a good technical climb that I could never do in a month of Sundays on an analog bike.

I totally agree with this!

What tipped me over was, after started XC racing ing in the 80's racing into the 90's ...mostly on full rigid bikes! For the early 2000's I was way into RC planes. Did that for over 20 years ...then went to the 2020 Sea Otter with some friends I was blown away on all the MTB changes....single ring instead of triple ... almost everyone on Carbon frame sets....12 Speeds??? Plus being 70 yrs old at the time, Plus I was a MX racer way back in the day....I made the plunge!!!! Could not be happier...My normal ride is about 25-30 miles 35-4500 feet of elevation on my Luna Cycle Apollo....they don't even make them anymore. 52 volt battery, 1100 Wh, 160Nm of Torque....with my ENVE wheels and some other lighter parts...got her down to 54lbs. YIKES!

I combined turning 50 & having a heart valve replacement for getting my first emtb. I tend not go too crazy but my Turbo Levo sports Johnny Watts 365’s & I love it!

I'm 70 years old. hip replaced 2 years ago, arthritic knees and back. Love my Orbea Rise!

Love Lapierre looks its so weird most people will hate but I really like the concept maybe its finally time to get a used one for a good price

Hi Isaac, hi Adam in The cool places, the one from Romania it was called Munții Șureanu (Șureanu mountains) and it would be pronounced something close to Moontzii Shureanoo.

I was given a 2017 Merida 7.300 ebike but haven't ridden it yet as I have Pulmonary Fibrosis and need a double lung transplant but I can't wait to ride it.

Heart condition was the reason. Doctor told me to stop riding bikes . E-mtb was the prescription. Couldn't argue with the doc.

How can you justify 12 grand for an ebike? Oh yeah the badge. Righto...

As for tipping point, I'm not quite there as far as possession of an emtb. However, it is my age that has got me looking at YT and Canyon options. It's coming, just a matter of time.

Think someone should run trough the actual difference in numbers to watt/torque at the wheel that crank length makes, I understand that it is negligible like 5w/10Nm even over a 20mm difference in length.

All the major moto bikes that have abs also have a way to shut the ABS off. I don't want it on my bike.

If only that Decoy came with a Bosch motor...also, that GLP 3 looks nice too, I hope Lapierre has overcome some issues with the rigidity of the frame that was an issue for the previous models.

I hear a lot of people say that Bosch is far more superior over Shimano is that the case?, asking as I have a lightweight emtb with a TQ motor but at some point will switch to full fat so looking for some early advice, cheers.

Yeah my thoughts. I want the cx gen 4. Bosch is the most reliable with amazing sensor tech. Riding a Bosch ebike since 2017. ☮️

Hi Great video! But, still no mentioning of NOX cycles...

On the Decoy, that is a Fox DHX, not DHX2.

I would disagree regarding the 2018 gen1 kenevo having owned one. It was dated on release. The gen2 I currently own is significantly better in all aspects.

Decoy looks the nuts TBH, not sure about the Lapierre, integration and smooth lines are what makes an e-bike (I think) look great, that does not look the case with the Lap 😫

That price sure seems reasonable especially when you think that there are other eBikes that cost double this....there is no way that premium components would double the price!!!

Guys 1 major no no for me with ebikes is, British weather and this time of year with all the nooks and crannys you have to clean to get the mud out of. You can't jetwash in there as that pressured water is a no bueano for the electrics. Normal bikes hassle free 😮

I dont know why YT, a company from Germany didnt go use the pinion motor. imo, derailleur system isnt the best system for the ebike world.

Both of you have good points! I’d take a leaf out of the bikepacking community to make it work on the top tube/underneath downtube/forks etc. etc. possibles are endless but yes not ideal off the shelf.

Stop normalizing 10k for an e-bike! This isn’t ok. It’s no longer a new niche product.

I own a GLP2, it's the best handling bike ever, but I won't buy a GLP3, they got crazy with the prize....

ABS is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

Maybe get a co host who knows something about e bikes and is at least enthusiastic about them and something more to contribute rather than just saying openly he doesn't know anything about them....

Lapierre looks terrible. I wouldnt take one even for free.

Lapierre looks terrible ...the frame and motor /battery design looks dated, for that price point there are far better emtb on the market.

that ducati is horrible; it is an mtb for ducati motorcycle owners, not for mtb-ers... looks like an all show and no go. Having writen *ducati corse*, without having a ducati team on the world courses in mtb is also cringe AF!

For that ABS system looks like it’s just too many wires all over the place not a fan what made me by my first Ebike I like, jumping and flying down hills you can do so much more of that with an Ebike💪
