Spoilers for the live action and original novel: They messed up the sequence in the anime and I’m bummed out about it! The story is good, the style and animations are flawless, as well as adding the elements that were not added into the live action. It’s just that the sequence of events are all jumbled. The live action follows the sequence of the novel, but lacks a lot from it. The anime has a lot of the stuff from the novel BUT! The sequence of events are all mixed up. The Guanyin temple should be towards the end, not before the Lotus Cove gathering. The reveal of Wei Ying’s golden core should have happened BEFORE this, so that his and Jiang Cheng’s arc towards the end can make sense. As well as Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying’s reconciliation after everything that got messed up. It doesn’t make sense for Jiang Cheng to just disappear at the end during the coffin sealing ceremony, because he is the head of the Jiang Sect-he has to be there. The ending was great tho, cause unlike the live action, the anime shows that Lan Zhan and Wei Ying will never part from each other ever again.

真人版換了順序，因為原著常常是沒有順序 一下回憶，一下然後回到現在，看魔道，墨香的書，有個特色都會塞些回憶梗，這點天官賜福更明顯，動畫版和真人版，各有千秋。我喜歡真人版，金光瑤原著是被聶明玦顎斷頭骨而死，和聶明玦同穴永世不得超生，不是聶導藉藍曦臣的手殺金光瑤，這是真人版的梗，因為真人版先播，聶懷桑藉藍曦臣的手殺死金光瑤，動畫版可認為這梗不錯，動畫就用了。

唯一跟動畫不同，原著藍湛一直在跟薛洋纏鬥。魏嬰帶著小輩躲兇屍。真人版這點比較可以。

But I mean is at the end of the animation, we don’t see Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng fix their relationship, which would have been nice to see. Both the animation and live action have their merits. The animation gives us a bittersweet ending to Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying’s arc, and in the live action we see them have a start to their redemption as brothers.

jiang Cheng going into seclusion is a nice dramatic touch, but it is so unbelievable. There is absolutely no way the choleric Jiang Cheng would get that emotional and do anything of the kind. Aside from the fact that he simply has no reason to do so.

I am little disappointed that they changed some parts that they didn’t show the part that wei confessed his love to lan wangji. I hope someday they remake it same way in the noble and manga.

I just found out huisang’s va is also the voice of kaveh in genshin. Thought it was Wei wuxian at first.

I alway felt like there deeper feeling with their bond in the anime that was not seen in the live action due to censorship. How of curiosity can anyone tell me out of them both, who love is deepest? Lan zhan or Wei ying? I still pretty new here so I don’t think I grasp the story well as other. 😅

I'd say they both love eachother tons it just took Wei Ying way longer to realise his feelings hahaha Lan Zhan definitely knew of his love first and was always trying to protect WeiYing the entire time whether his feelings were reciprocated or not he definitely sacrificed a lot for him Definitely recommend reading the novel there's so much left out of the series!

Yeah, they love each other equally but personally I think Lan Zhan's love is deeper. He loved Wei ying for longer even when the feeling were not mutual. He suffered for years waiting and hoping for him to come back but Lord when Wei ying returns the love he goes all out. Read the novel even the censored parts to understand
