the thing that really fucks me up, is that lxc and jgy is a direct foil for wangxian. Their relationship could also have gone VERY BADLY if wwx wasn't the most stupidly self-sacrificial person in the world with a heart of gold and absolutely no restraint (lwj does not count as restraint). it's so heartbreaking to see how they parallel each other. One Lan brother gets married and has a kid, and the other loses his husband and dies of heartbreak. sucks.

@@sorrybae4352 es cierto que lo que hizo estuvo mal, pero veamos lo desde el punto de huaisang, xichen siempre aprecio más a guang yao, básicamente dejo a dos personas que sabía tenían problemas solos, desestimó todas las sospechas de mingjue y cuando este murió siempre le dio la posibilidad de duda a meng yao pero no a mingjue. Xichen estaba planeando dejarlo vivir a pesar de todo y eso huaisang no lo podía soportar. Al menos yo lo veo de esa forma. Huaisang me encanta, porque hizo de todo por su hermano, no apruebo sus métodos pero si lo entiendo

Agreed. What he did is not morally good, but I understand why he did it. And in reality, I hate people like Mengyao more rather than people like Huaisang. If you don’t harm the clan or family of Huaisang, he wouldn’t even try to harm you. However, that’s what Mengyao did and plotted a long-term full proof plan + LWJ and WWX got to meet once again because of it (although it’s not a good circumstance/ reason they got to meet again) Anyway, I felt bad for Mengyao (in my head, I was like talking to him “if only you stayed with Zewu Jun in CloudR., or approached things in a different way, these things wouldn’t happen and there wont be much drama to begin with 😅) there’s bound to be a bad guy.

You know what's more tragic? Lan Qiren think Lan Wangji follow Qingheng Jun's step, he worry for so many years. But in the end, it's Lan Xichen. Zewu Jun think Wei Wuxian is the only mistake in Hanguang Jun's life. When in reality, it's Meng Yao to him. Wei Wuxian is the right choice.

Alright out of story but, can we appreciate Nie Huisang's voice actor? Because I honestly thought that was real and turned around when he yelled.

Oh man no, maybe not physical hurt, he'd never draw his sword on LXC - his dear dear LXC. But JGY has indirectly hurt LXC many many many times over, and by just continuing to be his usual self, he is continuously hurting LXC, bcs it is somehow more often than not connected to LXC and resulted in someone suffering/dying. LYING to LXC, like who knows how many times, counts as hurting LXC already bcs LXC is so so sooo sincere in helping his precious A-Yao; but JGY uses the help LXC gives him for no-good things/things that end with murder - more often than not. JGY is no better than JGS, using JGY's desperation for status and acknowledgement; he uses LXC's kindness and inability to say "no" to his poor poor hardworking A-Yao. He's just didn't laugh at his victim's stupidity - given that JGY isn't a boss ordering his subordinate LXC around, like how JGS was def laughing at JGY. LXC is a person JGY holds bias towards, and in his head, they are equal, his dear Er-Ge - but it still doesn't change the fact that JGY USED LXC. - Like "indirectly" causing WWX's death, bringing grief to LWJ, who LXC cares for deeply and had to watch suffer. - Making LXC trust JGY's words over LWJ's belief/love that WWX isn't wrong (ironic how that turned out, JGY is LXC's ONE mistake) - Choosing to believe JGY's "harmless" demeanor and defend his wrongs, instead of listening to NMJ's suspicions even a little bit; practically GIVING JGY the "weapon" to kill NMJ - LXC's CLOSE FRIEND before he even met JGY AND their sworn brother - UNKNOWINGLY bcs he trusts JGY to be good! - Doing his literal best to help JGY and QS' baby son, LXC mourned his dear A-Yao's very young son's death perhaps even more than JGY himself ever did, only to find out JGY is the only who killed his own son due to the incest that JGY politically couldn't avoid. JGY always says I have no choice but to do this. Bcs he's in too deep and his ambitions just a little bit away. So he has to reach it. Every step of the way, he has one way or another betrayed LXC's trust - and love(?) - due to his methods of reaching his goal being a breach of everything that makes LXC a person! But ofc, he obviously doesn't see it as hurting LXC, he doesn't have the time to think about "indirectly" hurting LXC, he has to use every single string he has if he wants to climb the throne of Koi Tower, and that's all it is, using the connection that he has (and he does want that throne so so badly, a result of his childhood scar needing some form of vindication otherwise he can't be at peace)

This novel is epic and great example of psychological of human heart. No matter it’s villain or victim. One got more painful story than others. What is human, how to be human that is the most terrifying query. Xue Yang, and Jin Guan Yao, Nei HuaiSang. They were all good guys but due to misfortune it lead them astray. They have one thing in common, they all thirst for revenge. Even tho their crimes can’t be forgiven, there were times I just don’t know who is more pitiful the villains or their victims. 😖

This is the most heartbreaking scene ever . I ship them

What I love about this scene is MengYao's speech. The desperation that, on his last moment, the one person he cares about might doubt his sincerity. I think MengYao knows he's a 'bad guy' and his only anchor that he can be good, Xichen, believing he's also a bad person, was the most painful thing.

Jin Guangyao is the best actor, not until Nie Huaisang unfold his fan.

Meng Yao is such a twisted soul. But even in his darknest side, he love Lan Xichen. Because Lan Xichen is too nice to that world.

Lan Xichen let himself be wilfully blind and be used by Jin Guangyao to kill Nie Mingjue (and numerous others who stood against Jin Guangyao), so it feels like poetic justice for Nie Huaisang to use him to kill Jin Guangyao.

Not to mention how despite this all being revenge for his brother. He found a way to also bring Wei ying back, clear his name as the most evil person in the world (thanks to the Jin clan) AND give Wei ying and Lan Zhan a second chance to be together. It's honestly hard to tell if he did this cause they were classmates. Maybe even friends. Maybe he sympathize with Wei Ying because the Jin clan also used him to gain their power and influence. Or if bringing him back was the only way his plan could work so it never traces back to him. Boy is an enigma, but thankful for his actions.

you know, I think letting xichen live was the crueller decision from meng yao. I think once he realized that xichen did doubt, and was already feeling guilt, he decided to spare him because it was the only thing he could do to try to clear himself of huaisang's accusation that he tried to kill xichen. By doing this, he's leaving xichen to be tortured by his decision to kill him forever. maybe part of it was love, or realizing suddenly that xichen would be the only one left behind with a kind thought about him, much as meng yao was the only one who could carry on with a kind thought for his mother. but I also think part of it was revenging himself on xichen for what he did, making him live with the consequences.

@yeonhee I do believe he cared for xichen. Immense respect and affection too but it's hard not to as xichen is straight of a person as it comes. But his last act is pure manupulative too as he truly is letting xichen to live with guilt as to weather he did the right thing or not. Truly evil in my opinion.

@yeonhee I'm not disagreeing with your point. I'm not saying he should have dragged xichen with him. The scene depicted here shows his affection for him but yao has been manupulative all his life so Instead of truly apologizing to xichen knowing he was going to die he still kept thinking ways to escape and got super angry when he got stabbed by xichen. Him changing his mind last minute not to drag xichen unfortunately only shows his manupulative side as xichen after that clearly lived with guilt. So yeah that's why I'm saying he was truly evil. You can never know which side of manupulative ppl is genuine.

I've recently read so many webtoons where the Villains fall in love with MC and transform into MCs themselves (basically turn into a good guy) and it's alright I guess but this is really where I managed to find a Character who is the Villain of the Story who loves one of the Hero characters you could say and how it really affects both the Villain and the Hero:- the Hero character being Xichen and ironically he did hurt Xichen in many ways, maybe not directly but he did hurt him like when he killed Nie Mingjue, like playing a huge role in Wei Ying's death and hence hurting Lan Zhan which hurt and changed Xichen. He did always try to be in his good books, not showing his dark side, was genuinely happy whenever he was with Xichen even with all the secrets he locked from Xichen and so, Xichen was loved by the Villain and that left a mark on both of them. I am really happy I got to find Meng Yao and Xichen's relationship in this story (be it platonic or romantic. Loved by the Villain nonetheless and all that comes with being loved by such a person). You can sum up Meng Yao's love here in this scene perfectly especially when he declares out of 'hurt' when he was stabbed by the one person he loves who he knew would never hurt him no matter what or so he thought:- " I killed my father, my brother, my wife, my son, my master and my friend. What haven't I done! ..... But I've never even thought of harming you...." Man that always hits me and I feel for Xichen there. All that love he has for A Yao, all the guilt and pain he has for not seeing all sides of him, for not seeing through his lies, his secrets and the way he was responsible for so many tragedies, for the death of their own sworn brother who saw through A Yao, for not believing in Nie Mingjue and entrusting his life in A Yao's hands, the guilt of what ifs, what if he could have helped save all those lives if only he wasn't so blind, what if he could have saved A Yao himself from becoming this....if only....

Yes, that’s why I felt Ming Yao was cruel to push him to safety when he was already willingly died with him. Probably that willingness shocked MingYao, that’s why he pushed him away to safety. Either way, it’s sad. 😭

I know Jin guang yao killed lots of people but I cannot end up hating his character. The more I know him, the more I feel sorry. Very sad

A lot of MXTX's themes in MDZS revolves around classism and how people react to the extremely rigid system when it comes to birth and hierarchy. I've always felt like JGY is a foil to WWX in that both came from a lower/disadvantaged background but was "raised up" into an uncertain status. While WWX used that power to help people, JGY used it to reach as high as he could while treating others the way people had treated them, making him inherit the vicious cycle of the powerful oppressing the weak. It IS very sad and I feel like it's also a point MXTX was trying to make.

In all of Mengyao's lies, I believe one thing: that he never once thought of harming ZeWu Jun. Yao may be the main antagonist here but Nie Huisang is in fact the real villain, and it irks me that he still managed to get off the hook unscathed for lack of evidence. Poor XiChen. The fact that he would've let Yao pull him into the coffin with him says a lot about his feelings towards his sworn brother, and Yao letting him go in the end. They truly cared for eo. 💔

Huisanc isn’t a real villain either, sure he did stuff behind peoples back and lured mc and ml but he didn’t harm anyone actively. He just revealed the truths. His goal was not unreasonable either, he wanted revenge for his brother. That’s justified. Yao killed his brother, so he wanted revenge. His last act was dirty but tbh I’m not blaming him. He’s considered a much more decent person than Yao at least, he didn’t kill tons of people and only killed one, Yao.

I understand why Nie Huisang did that though, he wanted revenge and justice for his brother along with all of the other bullshit Jin MengYao has pulled, like killing his entire family and virtually being half the cause of what happened in Wei Wuxians previous life. Nie Huisang knew that if Jin MengYao walked free, he'd only wreck more havok (sure we'd have more episodes to watch but still). Jin MengYao literally made it so that anyone except himself with Jin Blood would get killed so then hed get the clan leader position to himself as well as having no opposing threat to his position. He killed everyone who was a possible threat (or even not being a threat) including his own son. All Nie Huisang did was seize the opportunity without getting any blood on his hands.

Honestly, the only person I can think of that could be considered a villain is Su She, he literally has no reason to do anything- he’s just jelly of the Lans cause he’s a loser

The sad thing about Xichen is that, he could not believe in his friend until the last minute. That is why he could not save Guangyao.

I can not bring myself to hate JGY. I understand his motive, his revenge, his hate but not that i give the right to everything he did, it was indeed so wrong. However to xue yang, man i hate him with my everything. I hate him the most in MDZH. But anyway, this scene is so sad 😭😭 I love the dynamic between LXC and JGY. He really never did try to harm LXC 😭

A child lost his parents, a man who lost his lover.. a wife who lost her child, a woman who taught she was a woman who was loved.. ends up they are incest.. no matter how I look at it genuine or not he would still continue to decieved Zewu-jun if things turn out his way.. and he will blindly follow him..even if it only justify there means... if only they could choose the other way.. they all want to be at top whereas it wasn't really fun over there.

Purely my opinion, shipping Lan Xichen and Mengyao is disgusting. Second, I don't think Nie Huaisang has done anything wrong. except for indirectly asking Mo Xuanyu to kill himself and resurrect Wei Wuxian. But truthfully, every one is glad that Wei Ying is back. True that Nie Huaisang orchestrated these whole politically plot and shit to revenge his brother. But the truer part is that, Mengyao really did all those shit to get to where he is not. He is evil. You can't deny that falsely accused Wei Ying as his scapegoat, kill his cousin, kill his brother, kill his son, kill his wife, kill his father and dissembled Nie Mingjue to make him his fierce corpse. If Nie Huaisang doesn't used WY and LZ to expose Mengyao's wrongdoing, the one that die next might be himself. Nie Huaisang did nothing wrong. Third, many might not agree, but to me, Mengyao doesn't deserves pity. Did he repent in the end? No, he did not. He doesn't seek repentance to those that he wrongfully kill. (not his father, of course.) But did he apologizes to Wei Ying for blaming him everything? He did not and he even insinuate that Wei Ying deserves his end as WY too chivalrous in the past. Truthfully, who isn't worth pitying for? Wei Ying is pitiful, Jiang Cheng is pitiful, Lan Zhan is pitiful, Jin Ling is pitiful. And that little thing that Lan Xichen felt is nothing compare to what happens to Wei Ying, Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng.

Each persons have their own personal view. To me only true culprits in this novel is the leader of the Wen Clan and MingYao’s father. Because of those 2. These villains were created. So to my personal view, Xue Yang, Jing Guan Yao, and Nie HuaiSang were all victims too. Even tho their crimes can’t be forgiven, they were still victims. If the Wen Clan wasn’t so tyrant wanting to control the world Xue Yang would not be so twisted. If Ming Yao’s father being a better father. Ming Yao may not wanting go against all societies wanting to kill all hypocrites. Nor would he kill his own sworn brother who called him song of prositute. That wife was his half sister and he fear his son will have birth defect so he killed them both. You won’t want the girl who supposed to be your’s father’s helper daughter but turn out without helper’s knowing you father reaped his wife and got a daughter. And now helper want your unknowing half sister to merry you? You didn’t know until your mother in law secretly told you you can’t marry her, I was raped by your dad and got your sister, and your father in law still in the dark. But under pressure of your dad you still have to merry her. How would you feel? If Ming Yao didn’t Kill his sworn bro just because he called MingYao son of prostitute. Would that fun loving hate fighting rather chase goose for fun Nei HuaiSang become twisted and become the mastermind of bringing back Wei Ying to life? Even without killing his sworn brother, without Nei HuaiSang become twisted. MingYao would still go through his plan kill all hypocrites insight. Trust non, one kill everything. For all Nei HuaiSang did was bring Wei Ying back, and guided them behind the scene, he just wanted to kill Ming Yao that’s it. Was he really that bad?

He's done LOTS of f*cked up things that's not just killing so I absolutely feel no pity for this man and am thankful someone as smart as the general brother is the mastermind Also I like to think that he also cared for wei ying to some extent since they went to school together and possibly wanted to bring him back for a second chance and to clear his name since he was one of the unfortunate souls like his older brother that suffered from the hands of weng yao Either way I love him more now for everything he's done ❤ He deserves to get some revenge for his older brother demise
