Laney Digbeth DB500H and DBV212-4 Demo

Музыка

The Laney DIGBETH DB500H celebrates Laney heritage in bass. Packed with vintage appeal and ultra-modern functionality, the DB500H gives the modern bass player a range of FET and Tube tones not previously available in a compact, powerful and portable bass amp.
Features
:
- 500W RMS
- Pre-amp section: Dual FET & Tube
- 4 position pre-selected EQ curves + EQ tilt control
- FET Volume, FET/Tube switch
- Tube Volume
- Bass Mid Treble EQ
- 1/4" Input + 1/8" Stereo aux in
- 1/4" Effects loop send & Return
- Outputs: 1/4" phones jack + DI pre or post
The Laney DBV212-4 is a powerful, dynamic, compact mid-sized cabinet loaded with a pair of vertically aligned 2x12" vintage voiced HH Black Label series ceramic drivers. Designed to accentuate the impressive punch and tone of its ceramic drivers and move some serious air, the DBV212-4 may have a small footprint but its pro performance is anything but small! Equally at home or on stage or studio gig, the DBV212-4 delivers masses of punchy warm vintage tone. The DBV212-4 matches with either the DB500H or DB200H Digbeth heads.

I’m amazed so few people have heard of Laney. The company has a great history going back to the 70’s. Fairly sure Hendrix used Laney at some point. I’m looking at this cab. Glad it sounded good.

Great vid guys!! sounds awsome! But the tube thing, i´ve done some research, in a live streaming when this came out the people of laney said that doesen´t have any tubes. In the webpage they said "tube circuit or tube channel", same thing in the manual schematics. A little tricky IMHO, but sounds great.

Sounds good! When you demo the DI would you please send the pedal’s signal to the effects return of the Digbeth amp so we can have a more direct comparison of the 2? Should be pretty easy to A/B as all you would have to do is plug/unplug a 1/4 inch cable. Thanks!

I use a Laney Cub 12r valve 15w max amp to feed a Hartke 4x10 XL. Even at 1w it is freaking loud. The basses seem to sound great thru this too - so I won't be looking for a bass head for a while

I dig the tones coming out of these amps, But how is the quality control & long term reliability? I still have a Hartke HA7000 from 1994-95 gigged all over with it for years, maybe not the best stand alone amp without a nice pre in front of it, but it’s still solid as a rock & never broke down once...

I think companies are at the point where they can almost perfectly replicate tube tone using solid state circuitry or software, but my question is does it ‘feel’ like a tube amp to the player? For me that’s where the magic of tubes still lies. Assuming there are no tubes in it, would you say the Digbeth gets close?
