need more bass content, can’t ever get enough!!! Thank you for this, much love from america!
Been waiting for this demo. Nice amps!
Thank you guys. Always love the show. Cheers
received mine DB500H last week. I must say I haven't heard this kind of tones and seen this architecture type from a transistor head since a 1974 Road Electronics amp. Plenty of power for playing with a band and moderate gigs (however, don't expect the real 500W from a classic Class A amp). A perfect little beast for old-school rock lovers. The compact size and 7.1 kg, are very welcome after years of moving old styled 20 kg monster heads and fridge-sized cabinets. Send/return loop and phones+aux in the rear panel are very welcome features, so this little beast also works for personal rehearsal too. Laney nailed it this time. A keeper at least for me.

Great bass face today guys. Keep it going man
Love your reviews!!! Great videos.
I absolutely love this amp. It really is fantastic!
@Andertons Music Co Whoooo yeah! Go get it boys! Danggg. That sounded great on my end using my little 120W with a half stack w/4x12"s with YT @ 100% and the amp @ 80%, and a 10" subwoofer cab. Ohhh Yeah.
OMG that sweet drive tone!!
Love hearing the EHB in clean settings
So, like the Laney IRT Studios, these can go straight into an audio interface/PA without having any kind of speaker plugged in, right? Or is the direct-out simply in ADDITION to having the mic'd out?
Sounded pretty tight and punchy. Nice.
How would you say this compares to the fender bassman 500 hybrid head? I know it’s been discontinued but the two have the same wattage and seem close to the same price point. I got the laney yesterday and originally wanted the bassman 800 but they are out of stock every where and don’t know when they will be back in stock
I really enjoy these demos because these guys can really play and enjoy themselves while they do!!! These rigs sound really good with cool sound morphing capability! Very impressive! Laney definitely impressed bass legend Nathan East to make him switch to their gear! HUGE ENDORSEMENT!!!
Has the Ibanez for a pickup upgrade? Looks like there’s tape over where a logo would be.
They sound awesome, thanks gents! =)
Been toying with amp sims online. What do you guys think. Love the show and thanks
Nathen is fantastic on that Ibanez!
Looks and sounds great. Wish they were priced comparably in the States. Wicked expensive.
Nice Solos. Espacilly from Lee.
But does it doom?
Is there a tube in there or is this all solid state?
I really want to try the 200w combo.

Could I use this a a guitar amp do you think.
That 4x10 looks tempting. I like tall amps but my 1970 SVT 8x10 is getting to be a pain in the butt to move.

Come to the dark side my friend. I play guitar as well but ended up playing bass in two bands and fell in love with it. I found it made me a better guitar player but my first love now is bass.
I want one.
Really is a pity the 200 watt one wasn’t footswitchable But the sound on both was amazing

Agreed, was considering the 200watt and was slightly put off by the smaller eq but I could deal with that. The lack of footswtich option is a deal breaker.
does it have or does it not have valves? It is not clarified in the specs. Sounds awesome and looks great but the tube thing is important. Cheers

its got a valve preamp that can be blended with a FET preamp, so it does have valves. (probably only one of them tbh)

@@ColbyJohnson303 Its kind of suspicious that its not clarified in the specs, it does not says that it have one 12AX7 valve and also its not shown in the circuit diagram in the manual. Do you have any other source of information? Greetings from Argentina!
@paniccleo

I feel like it probably does not have an actual valve in it. In all of the copy about it they refer to it as "TUBE" in all caps so as to avoid saying valve/12ax7 or anything that implies there is one. Also the preamp pedal in this series sounds basically the same, and it is written about the same way and certainly does not contain a valve. But in the end, who cares if it sounds good, which it does. Would also make the head more rugged.

No it doesn’t have any valves. But it absolutely sounds like it does
TAKE MY MONEY!!! (Actually I cant buy this from Andertons because I'm in the states), but that 500w head is what I've been looking for

I've bought 2 basses from them for considerably less than I could of here in the NC. They had some blowouts, and shipping through DHL was not bad honestly. Shipping that cab over the ocean would probably not be as cheap though lol.

Wellsir, I hadn't considered that. Ha! But, if you see their silly deals they do periodically on stuff that does not need electricity, don't be scared to check the shipping rates.

@@lordimpaler3899 No need to worry about that - the amps have switching power supplies, which go from 100-250V. I would think that it's only valve amps that might have traditional power supplies which may be voltage-specific (though even they probably will have a switch on the back to cope with both US and European mains voltages).

@@dogsbodyish8403 I dont see a switch on the back for voltage, but the socket for the power cable is rated at 100v to 240v...so, just to clarify, that means it switches on its own?

@@paulpocock5888 I prefer the neck on the ibanez. Both great though.
I've loved the sound of Laney since 1970. The DigBeth is right there! However, I will not pay $1,900USD for aa "Built in China" head and cab.
They sounds nice but do not seem to have any low end at alll
As with all these vids you can't get a real sense of what these things are really like on a YT video and whether they'll "do it" for you until you get your hands on them and try them out.
Hartke like
"Designed and engineered in the UK by Laney" is great and all but I'd rather spend double for this amp if it were MADE in the UK. Still means something to about half of us. Great video, regardless.

No fan in this unit???
@Lee Anderton, are you aware that Chapman is on the scrounge again? Still buying himself expensive new gear while at the same time asking for fans to fund his next album, even though he apparently has a record deal for it. How do you feel your close association with Chapman affects the Anderton's brand? I think he looks incredibly sleazy and dodgy once again. He's revived all the anger against him back in early 2020. If you have him back on your video channel he'll only damage your reputation.... badly.

Can you elaborate please
I tried several Laney Bass amps over the years. I never liked any. Not the power that was indicated, no bass sound, quickly run into distortion. Maybe they learned from the past. To my opinion much too big. Looking for a hybrid amp? Hartke TX 600.
Currently selling one of these in the states for $600, like new in the box. Just don’t need it anymore, great amp though. Reply if you’re interested!
Shame , i bought 3 & they were all microphonic & been in sea container ship for to long...all had different faults...i bet Nathen East's does'nt snap crackle & pop...hand made in England...should have been the best bass amp ever made but only KZreadrs get working equipment we all get rubbish made in a jungle 15,000 miles away...a joke...yet the Digbeth pre/DI footpedal works perfect...lol ..i wanted this so bad & was insulted when Laney said nothing was wrong with the 3 of them...we only tried it with 35 bass's, £1.8M worth to be insulted by Laney....never use their stuff again....made in a jungle rubbish sweat pit for the price of a weeks Giro Cheque....most were not even bought or sold as so badly made...as usual only KZreadrs get working versions while we get rubbish....
Just for future reference: there is way too much 20Hz in your kick drum sound on this one.

@@arbitermatt 20Hz is a rare thing to have as far as response. It's probably too low for your system. But I happen to have completely flat response down to 15Hz, and I'm just letting them know that there is an imbalance, a hump, in the kick sample in the drum program they're using.
Sounds good for a fake tube amp.
I had a Laney Pro Bass amp in the 80s and it was a giant piece of junk. It was the size of refrigerator, had 40 useless knobs and switches, and sounded like garbage. It weighed 150lbs and was only 150watts.
Why use a direct signal when demoing an amp? Makes no sense what so ever....
Absolutely nothing in this video relates to the question of whether this bass could become a "standard" for bass players. It's just another amp and a very ordinary sounding one at that.
@mojoemurphy
Жыл бұрын
The only true "standard" for bass amps is the SVT. That's what every other amp is compared against and it's for good reason. This amp sounds ok for what it is, but if you want the "real" bass sound you're gonna need an SVT
Too bad no one cares about a Bass Solo... Great sound gentlemen.
