My 05 HSE won't move in drive at all but did in reverse barely, its not low on fluid, the drive shafts don't move in gear and if you give it gas the rpm drops and almost stalls for a sec

Hi great video i just brought a 2002 landrover discovery td5 with a crook auto gearbox the owner took it to a gearbox place they said the the trigger wheel sensor was off center trigger wheel was found to be very loose and can move back and fourth 10mm would that cause it to only have first gear and reverse ive been told its a common problem the bolt comes loose

They’re a few bits (not much) on the drain plug (magnetic) I ran some fluid through and replaced the filter.. hopefully that got some of it..

Brilliant video an just the right time for me. I have the 300tdi auto D1. The front propshaft decided to let go and crack the gearbox. So I have several questions for you...

may i ask what auto box you used i see its the d1 , i know Ashcroft have a zf4hp22 wondering if it can handle twice the torque of the original 300tdi defender , any info , many thanks

quick question ive had same issue how do you get the torque converter to line up with the four bolts on the flywheel as i cant figure it out and only way you can see what your doing is to take the sump off which is what i am doing tomorrow any help would be apreciated

I put my phone down where the starter motor was.. had it in film mode and spun it around (torque converter) until a hole lined up.. one on is in its bloody easy.. but that first one 😭

@@TattyCarTravels-VW ok cheers i was gonna take starter motor off to check to see if i could do it that way ,just had to put oil pump in as broke first one by slapping the box and engine toget the incorrect way derr what i am

This chicken reminds me of a tasty meal after a good fight with this transmission.

Mine is going into reverse. But doesn’t make any sound when i go to any other gear. Doesn’t sound like it’s engaging or doing anything other than in reverse. Other than when i go to park it makes a grinding noise.

I got told transmission by one guy. Another said it may be the shift silenoids

He dumped some of the liquid from the torque converter into that bucket. ?

Mine has just done the same looks like I no what's gone now

We want to see the disco go!

@@TattyCarTravels-VW oh, of course!! Drive just didn't rhyme.. Quite like a disco to be honest...

i have a discovery 3 and autumatic it drives for 30 minutes then stops you have to wait till it goes cold and then you can drive it

Owners manual is the best option, you’ll either need to remove the engine or box to get access, it’s bolted to the flywheel and the torque converter bolts through it (4 small bolts) I’ve got a flex plate and a automatic box in the barn as I only needed the torque converter to fix the truck 😃
