I wish mine was made like that. I have had oil leaks, Axles BENT, Calipers FALL OFF, Off Key Power draws and power steering hose leaks. I now have 14,000 miles on it and twelve trips to the shop, 6 car rentals and 47 nights out of my garage. This in just 19 months...OUCH Oh yea """NEVER EVER OFF-ROAD"""!

Now I know why my Defender is so expensive..look at the man hours involved! If LR could modernise and automate the construction which Im sure they could the Defender would have a brilliant future as the brand Icon

I'm not sure how long they have to spend on each vehicle - my understanding was that the actual man hour cost was relatively low. That coupled with a rock solid simple assembly would technically make it quite efficient. No wonder the team look so down beaten as they're all loosing their jobs when the "new defender?!" is built entirely in India, and the new one looks rubbish! This - just like the Jeep Wrangler is truly iconic and a timeless design.

Very nice. If I had the money, I would love to buy one of these, new, and keep it for the rest of my life.
