Land Pride GS1572 Land Plane is WAY Better Than the Box Blade!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Land Pride calls these a "grader scraper" which I've never heard in my life, hence the "GS" in the model number. Regardless of whether you call it a land plane, land leveler, or grading scraper, this is an awesome tool! #LandPride #LandPlane #CompactTractor

At 8:50, I should have said that the ripper teeth were set 1 level below even with the blades. I ended up raising them 1 level later in the video, which actually made them even with the blades.

I watched this less than 24 hours after renting a trailer to pick up my new land plane/grading scraper. I wasn't sure I could get it in my truck bed safely..... I have fought with a box scraper for exactly a year. I maintain a half-mile road and decent size driveway. I used the land plane today before even setting it up and got better results than I ever did box blading. I don't like to admit I cannot learn to do something but I give up on gravel road maintenance with the box scraper. I originally asked for a land plane when I ordered my tractor last year but let the sales guy talk me into a box scraper. I knew one day I would end up with both but wish I had stuck to my thoughts versus his. Great video, I just needed to watch a day earlier!

My Land plane is AWSOME! Was torn between that and a box blade. Very happy with my land plane. Most times the ripper teeth are not needed. If they are I will only make a couple passes with them and then finish it with them up.

I bought a LandPlain just like yours to do 4.5 miles of hard pack limestone road. Awesome, it made the road like new. Brought up gravel bought years ago. The area saved $15,000 in gravel purchases. Be a good tool for the area for years to come.

Thank you for the video. We just bought the GS1548 for our Kubota 2380. Will be using it shortly on two different roads. Excited!!

Looks good. Outdoors with the Morgans has a lot of good tips for the land plane.

I just picked up the 60” version of this same land plane last week, works way better than a Boxblade! I’ve had both and the box blade takes way more practice

My brother used my bx1880 loader and lifted my gs0548 out of my truck bed and I pulled up my truck then he dropped it down. Its around 340lbs, + I added the rear blades. I have no idea why, but it helped with ballast. Its a baby tractor, but it'll do all I need, at least for now. Nice to see another KY boy getting something landpride. Only problem, ur tractor is wrong color. Lol. JK. I have a few videos to post as soon as my internet gets better.

Yeah, the land plane does one job perfectly. The box blade does well at many. Next purchase is a land plane. The box blade must be setup right or you can hurt more than help. I set mine like Dave does and it works well for small areas. For LONG drives that you do not need to move material the box blade is hard to keep from digging in. I agree with your position.

After you get enough rock turned up then raise the rippers up and go a little faster but not as low but low enough to cover your tracks. If it's got a rear blade on that back blade works good for spreading rock going backwards. And if you angle it to one side you can build a crown on your road to shed water off to side instead of down the middle. Yes they're a great tool!

If you go to a farm machinery store and ask them it looks like a plough bolt most are SAE not metric just make sure you get high tensile, and use a spring washer. don't be afraid to put some suck on them And when you are doing it up tap on the head with a hammer so it seats it down other wise it will become loose when you use it antiseze on the threads Will save you a headache when you have to change the cutting edge. Top tip, don't use your fingers to hold down the heads when undoing the bolt use like the ball on a hammer because the edges of the heads turn into Razer's after some use and can spin and cut. More so if you use a impact tool,

I couldn't find the matching nuts at Tractor Supply or ACE Hardware, so I got a Grade 8 nylock nut with washer instead.

Thanks for the information. I suspect you are going to want to make at least one more pass to knock down that berm at the edge of the road. That will hold water on the road and cause it to rut faster.

I prefer the geared transmission better too. I bought my first hydrostatic tractor in 2018 and man i miss my shuttle shift transmission. I'll never do that again. Unfortunately I traded my Kubota L 2650 in for a J.Deer 3 E series.

Nice. Thats the speed your supposed to run that too. You were complaining about the 25hp but saw you trying to run in high and with rippers all the way down don't make sense in any size tractor.
