Great Job! Been looking at the GS1560 for my BX25 Kubota. Just recently traded in my Land Pride QH05 quick hitch for the QH15 with the adjustable top link, fix all my QH no fit problems. It requires bushings or adapters on most implements to enlarge the hitch pins on the implements.Works great after all is done.

Bill Burkhart Great video. This is one of the reasons I want a little tractor - I have a long gravel driveway and It looks like I am growing a lawn in it. Drives me nuts - I am tired of spraying weed killer on it. I used to have a skid loader I could clean it up with but its been sold for years now. Need something like what you have. Plus I could use it for snow.

Bill I just want to say this is the best I have seen anyone use one of these attachments. I have NEVER been a fan of this implement but you seem to have a plan in place that allows you to get the most out of it. there are still things about the implement I don't care for but seeing your ability to get such great results does have me wanting to look at this implement again. you have NO IDEA how huge that is because as you can read all over the internet I have NEVER been a fan of these land plains / levelers. I may visit my local dealer and see if I can try one out. really enjoyed the video your channel is looking very good and the voice over was on target and works out great! you have what it takes my friend your channel will grow fast.

I have a woods Grader scraper, I always pull it with the back of the grader touching the ground. If they meant for the back blade to not touch then it would have been built that way imo. I have not used mine in this fashion but I have used the scarifiers to rip up the base of a very long driveway because of very deep potholes . I dropped the blades level with the bottom of the grader but in hindsight I think if you were to use the rippers I would raise the blades an inch or so, that way you will not carry so much material and cause the tractor to lose traction and spin instead of pull.

Nice work. I picked up a Woods 72" grading scraper GSS72P (I call it a land plane) last summer and learned with it as I maintained my 5.7 mile long camp road. My learnings are: 1. it works best if level and both blades contact the ground at the same time, 2. the scarifiers are awesome at removing potholes and 3. check your top link mounting bolt torques every time you use it (the top link takes a beating and the mounting bolts on the tractor bracket that attach the top link will stretch and become loose - it happened to me). Thanks for a great video.

I own a Land Pride land plane like this one except that it is 72 inches wide. After a couple of years, I added the rear blades and it makes a big difference. Pushing instead of pulling makes the implement much more aggressive and helps a lot to loosen tight packed gravel or dirt. I also have a hydraulic top link that helps a lot to adjust the land plane. The thing is that when you start to pull, it tends to tilt the implement forward a bit raising the rear blade from the ground and letting material flow under it instead of letting it discharge over it. It is even more true when more material accumulates and it tends to tilt more. The hydraulic top link is then a great help to correct the position and get better results. If you have rear hydraulics, it'realy worth to install an hydraulic top link. It works great with a lot of three poins implements.

@@billburkhart Hello Bill: My unit came with both blades and I wouldn't have a comparison or honest opinion. Kubota L2500 with Loader, 4x4 fluid filled tires, manual gears. As for a hydro unit you may find forward and reverse motions effortless and utilize the rear cutting more than I do. 99% is forward motion keeping the fluid gravel flowing over the cutters, dry conditions are best. Keep in mind you are always pulling aggregate away as you showed in the video, so I will use the loader in combination of where I want to move stone and back drag with the bucket. Your video in front of the garage, is a great example of dump and back drag with the bucket, just don't hit the door...lol Like a tiller, as you work the gravel, it will go deeper. Hi Mickey17y, Since the blade on the grader is only 6" why wouldn't that work well. On the other hand since you've tilled it, could you simply seed it and roll it? Another idea is if you had access to a soil pulverizer, I know that would run over the tilled area and lay it down very nice. I have a disc video coming out that will show something similar to that idea. Thanks for taking time to write. Thank you! - Bill

Hello bobbert368, First, the 1025 R did everything I wanted it to do and the price of the new 1025 was the top of my budget at the time. No regrets purchasing it. Great machine!. Trade in value was strong. Moving up to the 2038 R has been awesome, it seems most of my implements recommend a tractor HP to be 20 to 50 HP. The 1025 was on the low side somewhat , but now I'm more in the middle of that range. The 2038 is heavier, and that makes me feel more stable on slopes. I added wheel spacers and never regret doing that. The tractor lifts more, pulls implements with easier, digs deeper faster, lifts higher and many other things I can't think of right now. The 2038 just has a feeling of being a larger tractor. I don't know how to explain how that feels. Thanks for taking time to comment and the excellent question. - Bill

Bill, Imatch & "other" brands can vary widely. Curious about the difficulty you have hooking up to your land plane. Is it width between lower links or is it top hook to top pin? Might check for adjustments in the 3 point tower. It might require unbolting and rebolt to different mounting holes. Just an idea. Hope you get that issue figured out. Measure the hitches on land plane & scarifier. Take note where differences are. Those measurements "should" be near identical.

What is the actual difference (applications) of a box blade vs. a land plane? I get where you said the box blade will move more material but seems it could also move less and would also do what a land plane does. Then there's a power rake which also seems to overlap (& is seemingly a lot more expensive). Been researching in preparation to get my 1st tractor & figuring what initial attachmens to get. Thx. (liked/subscribed)

  • @billburkhart

Hello Daniel, merry Christmas. The difference between the two attachments in my opinion is, the amount of material you want to move. I’d love to have a power rake but it’s too expensive for me. I love the implements that cost between 15 and $2500 I don’t feel guilty when they are sitting around not being used. I don’t know how to further quantify the gradient scraper except ....... it’s a whole lot of fun do use. Hopefully a healthier new year is coming soon. Stay positive and test negative.

@@billburkhart Thanks Bill! That's kind of what I'd gathered & that a box blade can take a little more finesse to dump the material (seemingly where position control of the 3pt. would be helpful). Seems like if only one or the other that the box blade can do what a land plane does but not vice-versa. I need to find some more power rake vids but would a power rake be able to take the place of a box blade in your opinion? I'm going to be (hopefully) using this semi-commercially as it's the only way I can justify the cost of a machine/implements & closed my old business so I need something to do - I suspect I'll be busier than I want to be but could possibly justify the cost of a power rake. Merry Christmas. Looking forward to a new year and a new tractor:).

@@danielsharon524 Daniel. Good luck with your purchase of your first tractor. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to have a power rake I just don’t have any way to recoup the cost of it. TTWT has a video with the power rake and does a good job of explaining what I canning can’t do. I’d recommend starting with something lower cost and go from there, my soil pulverizer does everything a power rake can do, without the liability of it striking a rock and propelling it into something that gets damaged. Just my opinion.

@@billburkhart Thanks for the input & looking forward to the tractor. After months watching vids & going to the delaer(s), I think I've finally narrowed it down to what'll best serve my needs. I did see one or two TTWT vids using the Power Rake but don't recall the explanation. I'll go back through. I don't want make the mistake of buying a more expensive implement up front if it will save buying a m/l redundant but less expensive one to begin with so trying to make sure I understand their capabilities & uses.

Hi Bill! I am looking at buying 1 for driveway use. Yours is a 48” model. Do you regret not buying a 60” model? I have a JD 1025R and it can handle the size but most of my implements are the smaller type and I regret going small on everything I bought. Not trying to live in complete regret with this purchase if I can help it. Thanx in advance

I found this unit used and it works fine. If they had a 60 mode in equal condition and priced right, I would have bought the 60" implement. Good question.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to have the option to close off the back of this thing so you could use it to pull a large amount of material to low spots and then open the back to use it as normal.

Good Morning Pete, sorry I misunderstood your idea. Thinking about it more this morning, I understand you want to make that rear hopper larger so I can hold more material to discreetly be spread in lower lying areas. Intriguing idea, let’s see if we get any comments on it. Have a great day.

@@billburkhart Imagine sliding in the back part of a box blade on the land plane. That would give you the option to push dirt backwards and pull larger amounts of dirt where you need it. Then remove the back part and use it like the land plane was intended. I'm just trying to avoid buying both LOL.

You can level better with a land plain than a box blade.

Bill is a very good operator. I sold these things for many years from the inventors son. Excellent tool for grading a driveway. For best general grading, the front blade should be a touch higher so the material is flowing over the blades evenly and not filling up the front area. More speed is better if area is long enough. Tighten centerlink to lift rear blade a little if you need to move gravel to other areas. The front blade will fill up allowing to transport material. For final grading, push back blade down with centerlink so you are mainly using rear blade to smooth gravel. It takes more adjustment if rear skids are digging in more than blade. I fixed braking bumps in my driveway 8 years ago with my neighbors blade and they have not reappeared since then. I had so many happy customers with smooth driveways and roads that I sold these to. The best was the water works department bought a 10 ft wide and used with a 100 hp JD. You could drive 55 mph on their gravel road with no bumps. Smooth.

Wait I’m confused I thought you owned a 1025R 😂 nice video man, I thought I subbed you a long time ago but apparently didn’t. Check out my channel lmk what you think I love the trailer jacks in the rear of your trailer, I bought jacks from harbor freight and welded them to the back of my trailer.. this helps take strain off the trailer frame as well as the vehicle hitch/frame... iv never regretted it
