Land Based and Boat Mangrove Jack Fishing | TIDES + BAIT | Gold Coast

Snag'd E.p. 36.
Another really successful mission using live poddy mullet. I landed 5 jacks over the weekend. Cooler weather is fast approaching but I will continue to land these jacks, just you wait!
Enjoy the vid and make sure you give it a thumbs up and leave a comment.

Been absolutely loving these Jack videos, it's always such a good feeling when your livie gets hit, or hooking up land-based to Jacks! Keep up the good vids man you've definitely got them figured out by the looks of it, yew!!

Best advice i can give you about jacks, is just when you think you have them sorted, they change completely. All mine recently were top of tide in middle of day. 3ft of water

So what your tide then mate? start of the run in? couldn't quite work out what was going on in the vid? From memory that weir is a couple of hours behind the creek in tide change. Do you pick your fishing time based on the tide change in the creek or what time it changes at the weir? Caught a couple on the other side of the lake this summer. Unfortunately im stuck down in nsw so wont be able to make it up that way anytime soon. Been trying live herring in the Brunz the last week and no jack...Decent trevs and flaty though

Yeah that weir is a few hours behind the tide so I focus on how the water is flowing. I mimicked the water flow when I was in my boat to match the weir and I was lucky enough to land that jack landbased. I have been fishing the start of the run in and have caught jacks that way. But the start of the run out was working much better for me last weekend. I think the cleaner/salty water filling up the creek after all that rain is the go atm.

I normally use 30lb braid and a 60lb leader. Normally where I'm throwing my bait I tend to get snagged on oysters and muscles so having a heavier leader means I can pull my bait out of snags a bit easier (and less chance of getting cut off by a bigger fish). Getting spooled - epic fish haha
