    We have these in Florida too, they're called mangrove snappers. I catch them with live shrimp a lot. Watch out for them teeth they will bite.

    The other side of that drain is salt water. On the goldy, a lot of lakes drain into the main river. So it's salt going into salt. A lot of bait hang around those areas.

    Thanks for the support. Yeah I'm 5 mins from NSW and those cast net rules can make catching live bait a bit more difficult. I've driven from QLD, caught a few livies with the cast net and then drove to NSW and threw the livies on. Didn't catch much but at least I've got that option if needed!

    Thanks mate 🔥! I normally run 30lb braid and 30lb leader. If I'm fishing spots where oysters and other sharp rocks are ill bump up my leader to 50lb

    Good stuff mate how fun is it!! Can't beat the feeling of a livie getting smoked. I've done a bit of Jack fishing landbased and from the boat, do you find they only bite early morning or late afternoon or you can catch them anytime during the day too? Cheers mate keep up the good videos 🙌

    Thanks mate. I focus my fishing around tides. I need that water moving. My live bait jacks have been caught 8am, 11am, 3pm, 4pm, 6pm. When ever that tide changes or water is flowing hard. 🔥👌

    I walk around my local area and just find places that hold bait. Helps when you're on foot doing a bit of landbased fishing - you just notice lots of things. I can't give away spots but just look for drains and run offs or where the weed beds are. The mullet like protection and shallow water!
