Came here from the conan pod mentioning how hard it was connecting with Lance even when testing the interview chemistry in their chat when he first arrived. Thats so weird since as a host he can usually connect with everyone lol. Eery.

Same! Sometimes competitive people are dismissive of people who act humble or self depreciating. Maybe Conan making fun of his own cycling was the problem. Lance Armstrong seemed to want Conan to be serious cyclist. That's my wild guess since I didn't see anything else really wrong with the interview.

All the comments hint at his doping but none go into what an absolute sociopath Armstrong was/is even off the bike, often threatening people's careers if they didn't get in line. There's a wake of people who's livelihood he threatened or ruined; Frankie & Betsy Andreu, Greg LeMond, David Walsh, Emma O'Reilly, even sponsor employees like Oakley's Stephanie McIlvain. Even setting the massive cheating scandals aside, the guy is still just a crappy human.

@@Baegitte to be fair to Lance, pretty much all the top teams in cycling were doping during his era, he was just the best at it (it's a special skill being able to mid race duck off to the team tent to take even more injections). Was kinda funny to watch in the year or two after he and the rest of them that were doping at that level were caught out, to see just how much slower the Tour de France ended up, made it so perfectly clear just how bad doping in the sport was, and the kind of performance gains it was giving the top teams over those that either refused to do it, or couldn't afford to have a program like the others did.
