Sky Sports dropped in on the LFA last week - to film another successful Referee Course presented by the LFA‘s Top Tutors.
48 candidates participated in a demanding 16 hours of theory and practical work. This included sessions on the Laws of the Game - Refereeing and Lining - Game Management - Positioning and Discipline to get themselves qualified and prepared to go out and officiate in the junior and senior leagues throughout Lancashire. Whilst the number of referees is declining in many parts of England - in Lancashire the trend has been reversed. Almost 98% of the 2000 games played in Lancashire are refereed by qualified match officials. Sky Sports were very impressed with not only the facilities at the LFA - but also the knowledge and enthusiasm of the candidates.
