honestly, all of her demos blow the final versions out of the water. there's way more creativity and personality here that she seems to buff out in the polished final pieces.

In the summer of 1921, there was a man named George who lived in a small village in rural England. George was a hardworking farmer who took great pride in his appearance, and he had a favorite shirt that he wore every Sunday to church. One Sunday, as George was getting dressed for church, he realized that his favorite shirt was missing. He searched high and low, but could not find it anywhere. He was devastated, and decided to wear another shirt instead. As the day went on, George began to feel a strange sensation in his body. He felt a sudden urge to eat turnips, which he had never particularly enjoyed before. He ate them by the dozen, and soon found that he was turning a strange shade of purple. Over the course of the next few days, George began to transform into a turnip. His arms and legs became root-like, and his skin took on a tough, textured appearance. His family and friends were understandably alarmed, and they sought the help of a local witch doctor. The witch doctor examined George and determined that he had been cursed by an evil spirit. He prescribed a series of bizarre remedies, including bathing in cow's milk and wearing a necklace made of garlic. To everyone's amazement, the remedies worked. No cause I love both versions, the album one does sound a bit more scary but that’s Lolita, her story is literally so sad and scary i think it does a good job showing that. This one is much more calm which I really like, and chorus is really good and catchy.

honestly i think the official lolita is really good but this one’s amazing. i think this version has a more humble vibe to it. if it were to be used in a soundtrack, i think it would be used in maybe an opening scene - perhaps just playing in the background of a diner or something. the other has a more aggressive/powerful vibe to it. i think if it were to be used in a soundtrack, it’d be for like a character walking in front of an explosion or something idk lol - i just feel like it’s super badass. all in all, i love them both. + in this version, you can hear lana more clearly which i also like

Omg, I remember I used to hear this version of the song all the time like five years ago, but that was when I didn’t have Spotify, so when I finally installed it, I heard the album version and I remember being sure that it was not same one I used to listen to, and thinking that I was having some trippy mandela effect, but no, turns out I have just been listening to demo version of the song all that time ago 😅

i dont understand how people are saying this version is less creepy and more fun. songs with actual band instruments and not just fake studio sounding stuff always seem more haunting to me and like old... yk? the original tries too hard to be creepy and the background is just noisy and annoying. this version is perfect though and i love that riff.
