As we were walking to see her I said to my brother "could you imagine screaming hope is a dangerous thing with this crowd" knowing it would never happen bc every setlist I had seen didn't have this song on it. and video games was also the last song on every setlist I had seen earlier in the summer. so.... needless to say I was taken to church when I realized what was happening

Last song of the show! Even though I took 7 videos (10 including Rina’s) I really wanted to record more since the show wasn’t live-streamed. Next time I’ll be sure to get “Young & Beautiful,” “Ultraviolence,” and “Diet Mountain Dew.” I would’ve recorded them tonight but the crowd made it literally impossible at times. So I hope you all enjoy despite all the interruptions that made me look drunk af holding the camera. 🙃

Thank you for sharing!! I love Hope and I adore the performance she built around the song. It's so personal to Lana and we're so lucky she's sharing it with us. Frustrated with others that have trashed her for trying and getting out of her comfort zone. I'm sure it's not easy for her. It's perfection, though. Some don't get it and that's ok but at least don't tell Lana how you you hate it. Speaking of ig fandom commenters treating her so terribly. Random idiots that don't understand her art and where this performance is coming from. Just venting over here lol I think it's one of the more brilliant ideas Lana has ever brought to fruition. Can someone decipher this performance? It looks like the stuff she added has something to do with the lyrics but I’m so tired to analyze 💀 I noticed the people in chairs looked like a 12 step program and ik the song is personal and mentions alcoholism

My thoughts exactly, my best theory is that - to me** the song is communicating that she has sacrificed a lot to be in the position that she is in and she has people that she has to answer to at this point in the game. The fact that she is wearing white and the dancers are wearing white I would think is also a symbol of purity and the agent is representing a darker side of her experience, but all 3 help her in different aspects. I have so much more to say but I wonder if anyone even reads it 😂 lmk

I will be that one person but singing over the artist you're watching is so weird like okay if it's a banger like Doin' Time or Summertime Sadness I can understand, but when you get emotional songs like Hope or Ride or VG I barely whisper the words under my breath because I put all my energy trying to absorb the performance so that it can stay with me in my feelings and memories of that night. (and also I don't want the sound of my voice ruining the experience for me first and then for the other people around me) like why do some of y'all have to be so loud? What are you actually taking from the experience when you are busy recording the entire thing and singing it so loud that when you go back home you hear yourself instead of Lana? The entire performance is happening before your eyes and you're absorbing 0 % of it.

@@adiemissworld - We agree to disagree on this. I would LOVE to hear Lana perform at a venue like a piano bar or smaller venue, that is intimate. Tori Amos does this on occasion, and its truly wonderful !!!! JMO.

Unfortunately or fortunately at a Lana concert fans will sing. I enjoyed singing with fans at Hyde Park. OK so you may think we should all stay quiet and I had my moments when I wished the same but actually its a powerful thing to experience if you surrender to it
