It's been almost a year since I lost my father; i hear this song for the first time a few days ago, & immediately that line "I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side" stuck out, stuck right into my brain, and gave me a good 10 minute cry. I've been listening to it almost daily since. I also reread "a farewell to arms", which contains nothing to remind me of my father, but has the single saddest ending of any novel, ever. I must be addicted to feeling heartbroken or just the release I get from crying.

***** ... So... Where exactly did I say I don't consider pop singers as human? I said I haven't heard what I'd consider a pop singer singing a song that's so real and deep in my standards. Obviously everyone goes through a lot experiences in their life. But she's one of the only ones I can recall (and I admit, I don't follow pop that much, so that isn't much said) that seems to actually sing about those experiences in their rawest form. That's new to me, because I'm used to pop songs about romance and difficult experiences being represented in a very artificial and "movie romance" type of way, which of course could be because it's more comfortable to the big audience to hear. I'm just glad that she and the people she works with decided to go with a different route and not disguise the song to be something else, it's refreshing, and that's where my respect comes from. ... I mean... Did I really have to explain this? Are you just trying to pick an argument out of nothing, or...? What? What do you want? Are you just having a bad day? I'm not trying to be mean here, I just really don't understand where you're coming from with this.

My cat died four months ago and everything I hear this I remember her. I know not a human but she was the one i loved a lot. I lost my dad 4 months ago and thats the same thing I used to say that the worst dad's are out there living and making the life of their family hell.. but here my dad who was the best dad, my friend and first love is not here with us .. this isn't fair .. live isn't doing justice .. stay strong we'll get through this .. we'll meet them

We had just finished brunch with his mother befor we headed north on his motorcycle, my arms rapped around him I held him tight thinking I was the luckiest girl alive. We pulled up next to his pickup at a service station, where he kissed me and said he'd see me at home. I followed him threw the town and down the road, I even snapped a few photos as he road ahead of me, again feeling like the happiest girl alive. We crossed the river and headed up the bending road only 9 miles from home. He disappeared over the top of the hill and that was the last time I'd see him alive. When I crested the hill I seen a cloud of dust and I knew his bike had left the road. I was scared at the thought of he probable was going to be very upset and his bike was going to need fixed. As fast as I could I pulled onto the side of the road slammed the pickup into park, jumped out and ran to his side. Here laid there motionless as I begged and screamed for him to be alive. I tried to feel for a pulse but my heart was pounding so hard I could tell. I tried lifting the bike off his leg so I could move him from under it, it was so heavy i couldn't move the bike. I called his name over and over as i dialed 911 for help screaming as loud as i could for help, noone could hear me. It took 12 minutes befor the first car came pulling up and they rushed to our side. After lifting the heavy bike a woman tried CPR but he was gone, he had been gone since the minute I reached him. I don't know why he wrecked all I know is blunt force trauma from a road sign is the reason we never made it home that Sunday afternoon. God I miss him. I miss the part of me that left with him too, I actually felt it leave my body as I sat there helpless beside him. I don't understand why God didn't take us both, he could have I was just on that same road with him befor we grabbed his pickup. I'm 42 years old and for the first time in my life I don't know how to move forward. I live in the past everyday since my baby went away. I try my best, but I am stuck and alone every God forsaking day. I love you Erich and I live for the day I see you again my love ❤❤❤

similar thing happened to me- i had a crush on a boy for around a year and a half and he died from a medical condition. i loved him with all my heart and soul. he loved the song video games and we both really liked lana.

This song makes me think of the horse I rode at my old barn, I didn’t own her but she was *my* horse. She died and no one told me until after she’d passed. Her death ruined me for a long time. Everyone around me was questioning why I was so upset over a horse. She was my best friend though. I had awful insomnia and when I did sleep I only had dreams of her. I’m writing this 3 years to the day since I found out about her death. I’m in complete tears right now. It still hurts. I miss you London. I love you. Maybe I’ll see you one day.

This song is an emotional roller coaster, that's not a bad thing. Usually only like heavy metal, but this brought me to another field, mentally. Good job Lana.

there’s no words for how hard this song just slaps me in the face. it’s like she’s laying in bed talking to her dead relative crying and panicking. the bridge makes me feel like she’s freaking out and crying on the verge of screaming out of rage of loosing them. lana is probably the only artist that with any song she puts out, makes me feel like i am literally living through her situation

I just graduated at the age of 26 with my biology degree with first class honours yesterday. My journey has not been easy, i was in medical school abroad at 19 years while there i was terribly bullied by someone who was my friend. I then started medical school again locally at 21 .i spent 2 years but i was having mental breakdowns as it was too stressful for me to handle. I felt like giving up on my education. At 23 i decided to change my degree to a science major- biology... i wanted to give up so so many times.. so thankful i didnt. Dont give up...i finally have my bachelors degree at 26.

Your mom is going through the same. I can see why she’s a little too sensitive and why you’re gonna keep your feelings to yourself. All I can tell you is politely ask for therapy if you can. Try online if you can. It doesn’t cost much (depends on the therapist). Only keeping to yourself and not really working your feelings out will harm you more. I learned that the hard way after losing a friend 3 years ago. It’s gonna get better love, trust me. Won’t be the same but it’ll eventually get a little better for you. Don’t suffer in silence. You deserve to talk to someone, remember that. Friends, a dog, journal that pain out if you can. Let it out someway. I don’t think your dad wants you to suffer, remember that. Just slowly approach your mom with the issue when you deeply feel the time may be right? Or be straight forward with her, I don’t know your style with communication with people. So I’m just suggesting and questioning. Remember you’re loved. You’re not alone. You deserve to talk to someone. This pain shall pass. I hope this helped some if you read this. 💕

Me too. My dad died in 2016 but ever since November 8th 2016, I was 17, I'm frozen in time, I still feel as though it is the same year my dad died but it's been 3 yrs. My mother has been broken since , and I died with my best friend my dad. My dad really showed me how a young woman is supposed to be treated and loved... This song tears at my heart so much , the first 2 yrs I wished I was dead. Even now every now and then I catch myself saying I wish I was with my dad instead of here... But my dad's life will be lived on through me and my siblings, my mother, my dad's grandchildren. I'll stay a warrior like my dad and be strong for my family. Her songs are genius. If you play the song without sound, it reads out in a beautiful & sad poem. If I remember correctly, she said that she had wanted to be a poet. I absolutely think that she could become a poet! Her words are so meaningful... and rhyme too! My sole wish is that she becomes more famous than the artists you hear on the radio today. My husband's grandfather just passed away last night. It was Easter dinner at one of the uncle's houses, and he wanted to stay behind because he wasn't feeling well. And when his wife came home, he had already gone. They are saying a heart attack, he had been hospitalized a few weeks ago for some health complications. My husband isn't taking this so well. He feels guilty for not calling him more. That's the second grandparent to have passed in 3 years and we never got to go see them or say goodbye. We are driving over to Montana in a week for the services. It feels so empty without him here- he was such a good man, kind hearted, and soft spoken. This song is really helping me cope with it all since I lost my best friend, my Papa when I was 13. I felt like he took on that role and was such a loving man to our daughters. He will truly be missed. My whole thing with this that I can't shake is that he was alone when this happened. And part of me thinks that he knew it was his time and he didnt want to ruin family dinner... I'm just hoping he finds peace in the next life. Rest easy, Grandpa Ken. ❤
