I like the altezza size difference. Real cars have different sizes and I always thought that hot wheels was missing size difference. Like you can put a RAM next to a Mini and they are the same. They shouldn't 😆

You are so correct, the Altezza is larger than all these cars in real life.

The Altezza is absolutely not too big. I think you will get a better idea of it's size when you compare it to for example the silvia s15 or the green mercedes in the new boulevard set. Cause now you are comparing the size of the Altezza with 60s cars, hatchbacks and the miata which are all categories of cars that are small. But as always great video!

Altezza is 177 inches long .... a R34 Skyline is 181 .... when you compare the HW version's with each other they made the Altezza longer and bigger than the Skyline ... great casting but looks out of place with other cars .....

I really want that EG, Alteza, & Corrado even tho I couldn't able to find them all in my country bcs of the scalpers or they don't stock regulary. what a nice set full of amazing castings.

I love the corrado color choice but I would preferred a stock version with all black lace wheels.

The Altezza looks off because the headlights are oversized and there’s too much metal above the C-pillar. They’ll all be scalped by eBay chancers before I can get to them though.

The Corrado castings looks great. I like the custom look it has.

I picked up 4 out of 5 this morning left the Fiat cause I think it will be the peg warmer I will pick it up later I paid total $60 sum bucks .. one set for me and my little brother

I think if nobody ever said anything about the size of the Altezza to you first you'd never have noticed. It think its all psychological. that's just my opinion. The door handles looks like some kind of weird over site though and does throw me off. makes the panels seem larger than they are with no breaks. I think thats where some people prob got the 'over sized' feeling they claim.

Spoon civic will get scalped up quick. Miata and fiat are okay. Love the corrado and feel it’s the most underrated in the set. I think the “off” thing on the Lexus is the length of the hood or just whole front end just kinda looks more like a bmw m5 then a Lexus to me. Either way I’ll be on the hunt for this one.

The Altezza/IS300's front looks curved down a bit. Also looking like a PS3 ish look at the same time, pretty sure it's because of the headlight and grille textures

I agree with you on the Altezza. It has always been a pet peeve of mine when a designer decides to go large. I remember years ago looking forward to the New Beetle Cup, and sighing when it turned out to be a big chonky thing.

@@lukes5533 right. They’re a close 1:64, but there are a few other brands that advertise as being true 1:64. Some hot wheels are way off, it bugs me if I have cars displayed next to each other that are clearly sized wrong. I compared the HW 400Z to the Auto World true 1:64 400Z, they were close but the Auto World was slightly smaller. Hot Wheels also makes some small changes like making a car shorter or wider than true scale because it tricks the eye and makes them look better proportioned, some true 1:64 look weird even though the scale is correct.

​@@awatson1968I have two Silvia S15s: HW Premium and Tarmac Works GLOBAL64. Both look OK in their own scales (with the latter being finer), but the HW counterpart is indeed thiccer. Its trunk lid isn't parallel to the ground too, rather it slopes down to the rear. I reckon HW 1:64 (maybe with the exception of Elite 64) is scaled on the slightly larger side to accommodate for the track's width on their playsets. Their Civic Type R EK9 is also thiccer than Tomica Vintage Neo's counterpart.

That Corrado is 🔥 I wished it would’ve came out in silver with black BBS, like the one that I had. I wish HW would release a VW Scirocco Gen 2 bcuz I had one b4 the roda.

Personally i think the Altezza looks just fine for me, especially when you put it alongside some Hot Wheels 4 door sedans, i think the car looks great, really well execution. The only thing i kinda don't loke is i know i won't be able to find the chase and that's it

That's a great set, VW Corrado and the Fiat 131 Abarth are my most favorites here. I don't think the Altezza looks big (and it's a bigger car than the MX-5 which is a small car in real life) but door handles would definitely make it look better. Thanks for the preview.

I’m a Volkswagen guy, I guess. The Corrado looks great, I like the bodykit, it’s just the front bumper I can’t wrap my head around. A smaller intercooler tucked in at the bottom of the crash bar would have looked so much neater. Stance, colour, details all spot on otherwise but I display mine nose-out and I think that’s its worst angle.

If any of the castings are sized wrong it's the EG. The EG and EK castings are ridiculously massive and they look really wrong next to the recent DB Integra Sedan. The Integra Sedan and B13 Sentra are proportioned perfectly IMO.

People get confused about the Lexus is300.. people tend to think they're the same size as a Honda Civic and it's not it's actually much bigger.. It's a straight six 2jzge rear wheel drive entry level luxury car

Weird situation in the UK, these appeared sporadically earlier this month in a few stores, and are already marked as being unavailable for future deliveries. I managed to score the Civic and Lexus IS, but probably won't be seeing them in any stores again here. Literally taken off the market as soon as the appeared...

I think the altezza is just fine. It is a shame they didn’t put door handles on it. I think that stock fiat will be the best it will ever be before all the rally stuff goes on. Spoon Honda is $$ and I’m a big fan of the Miata. The VW is the peg warmer for me

That Spoon EG6 is insane on the 2nd hand market right now. It’s not even worth paying for it. Almost double or triple the price. I hope they re-release it someday so that people can get their hands on it and not just resellers

Love the set! The Corrado is just perfect and I’m not even a VW guy. The Altezza/Lexus IS is a great surprise! But the wheelbase is huge that’s why it looks a bit off.

I bet this will be one of those Car Culture waves where I only ever see maybe two of them on pegs at Toys R' Us Canada but I'm not quite interested in them enough to just wait for the shipping container set (which is how I'm planning on getting the Spettacolares because I never saw anything from that wave in stores). I will probably buy the Miata if I see it because it looks perfect in green. I like the Civic in that split yellow-blue livery but I already know ahead of time that I'll never see it on pegs.

Bit of a shame about the lack of door Handles on the Toyota Altezza/IS200. This is one of my absolute favourite cars so I’m leased they did a stock looking IS200 with I believe the sport package

I like the Altezza but it does need the door handles added. Also that civic is hot and I agree that is going to be the hard one to find.

I don’t have the Altezza in hand, but I don’t think it looks too big to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m with you on the Corrado though. Not a VW guy so don’t really have stake in the game, but I think the casting is really cool. I’m glad they gave it a custom look.

Definitely think the Fiat 131 Abarth is the star of the show - very nicely done - proportions look good on the video & a fitting swan song for Mark Jones (apologies & please correct me if I’m wrong). At any rate I’m looking forward to seeing lots of comp livery iterations on that one. The V-Dub is my second choice, it’s very welcome that the less popular models get an outing notwithstanding the rather less than ideal “pumped” look. Beggars I guess can’t be choosers. As for the others well they’ll be popular no doubt. I have a TLV Altezza so I have no skin in that game & already have a HW Civic & Miata/MX-5.

Not a fan of the modded Corrado. Should have been stock-Red ideally. As a VR6 fan, that one was extremely. Prime candidate for most disappointing new model. Fiat is the star for me, looks so perfect.

Agreed, although the Bodykit is period correct, nothing beats a well looked after stock corrado. That car is my absolute favourite Volkswagen car. I wish they continued the corrado to be VW’s sports car

Compared to these cars or miata, it is realistically bigger than them. But hw in general are off with their scale. Compare e39 and w124 for example

I’m really curious why the designer didn’t put door handles on the Altezza. There must have been some technical reason for it because it’s not something that you’d simply forget to add to a casting. I can overlook everything else with the casting but it’s super odd without door handles IMO

As a huge rally fan I know the Fiat should be my favorite but that Miata looks soooooo good in green over tan in those wheels.

Cannot wait for the MC next year with a Subaru... which one, who knows. Let's go bugeye! If I had to pick one of these, the Miata is beautiful.

Believe it or not, my favorite is the Fiat. That Miata, is just sad....

That Alteza it's like a copy of the old Lexus360 look the back lightly n all it's almost a copy of it but thats what males Toyotas the BEST CARS WISH THEY MAKE THE COROLLA FROM 80 TO 82 THE 1.8 ENGINE .

I hope they bring the Fiat 131 Abarth out in the famous Alitalia Livery soon! The fiat and Altezza do look a bit too long in the wheel base.

If you’re going to base your opinion on the fact that it looks a little too big you’re definitely going to be disappointed, it is after all a Hot wheels. You could also make a case that the Ford Raptor casting was a little small, look at the Sandblaster or the Silverado treasure hunt from a couple years back they are big castings and they were still able to fit the blisters on the cards.
