This short video illustrates a method for laminating strips of plastic binding using acetone and a little pressure to fuse the separate pieces. Most binding strips come separately from the suppliers so I frequently need to fuse individual strips before attaching them to the guitar. Specifically, this has to be done when stacking contrasting strips that will be seen on the sides of the instrument. Loose individual strips can be maneuvered and glued on the top and back, but along the sides they need to be laminated before attaching them. This method of using acetone is fast, effective, and a little bit messy.
