We see everything unfolding before us. A lot that can bring us down if we allow it. The good part in all this is that Jesus reminds us that he’s sovereign and has everything in his hands. No pun intended. “In the world, you will have tribulation but fear not for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. And much like what happened before judgement came as people went along in their ways paying no mind to the things around them. Isaiah brings to the center of a world that lacks mourning and repentance but instead sees revelry and feasting. So we’re fortunate to have a Father who is wanting to see the lost find their way back home. Everyday is a time to keep ourselves grounded and focused. Keeping ourselves ready. And sharing and encouraging. Jesus is coming back and he is the only way. God bless everyone on this Friday morning. TGIF. Prayers for Israel and America and the rest of the world.

Sadly I am still on a grief journey over the unexpected death of my mother. At first my whole life just stopped. Her unexpected death created a wall too big to go over and too long to go around. So I just stopped my life, sat down and didn't move. I was angry at everyone and everything. It took a while for me to realize my grief and anger had made me deaf and blind. One day, I literally saw someone standing beside me. It was God. I cried out, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN GOD? God said, I never left, I have been right here beside you, but your grief and anger made you blind and deaf. I said God, the unexpected death of my mother has made a wall too big for me to go over or go around. And do you know what God said to me. He said, You are not meant to go over it or around it, you merely need to get up and walk beside it and I will go with you. So that is what got my life going again, I walk beside my grief wall with God. PRAISE THE LORD! If it wasn't for God I would have never moved again in my life.

Thank you Heavenly Father for loving us in Jesus Holy name. I love you Father.

Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus before raising him from death. Grief is a terrible yet wonderful thing. It makes us feel like we are in the pit of hell. But while we grieve in the presence of our Father, He draws us very close to Him. I never want to grieve like I did when my daughter passed. It was in those darkest places where I realized God was right there with me. As His children, we are never truly alone.

Pain and tribulation are to be expected in this life: to be born courageously and in faith to our Savior. This doesn't mean 'not feeling'. Look to Jesus: did He not weep? Was He not agonized in the garden of Gethsemane? Follow His example in turning to prayer, and seeking God's will. Seek to share Christ with the lost, as He commanded us to do. I've a long way to go, but Jesus is worthy.

Oh, wow! That's a lovely daily devotion. I understand this very well. What I've been personally going through what is described in this devotion so beautifully. Glory to God! I awaken very early this morning way before my alarm went off. I now know that God awaken me because He was excited to share this devotion with me. I do hope and pray others will be even more blessed by this devotional than me. ❤

✝️ To lament is to express deep regret, grief, or sorrow. We can lament through words or actions. Lamenting is a common theme in the Bible. In fact, there is an Old Testament book named Lamentations. The Bible records several reasons why people lament. We lament when we grieve over the loss of someone or something dear to us (Luke 8:52). Grief is a common human experience, and Jesus entered into that grief with us when He was on the earth. When Lazarus died, his sisters Mary and Martha grieved, and their friends lamented over this loss (John 11:17-37). Jesus’ heart was touched to such an extent that He wept with them (John 11:35). We lament in prayer when our hearts are broken. Many of the psalms are songs of lament, expressing a range of emotions when the authors were going through sorrowful times. Psalm 130:1 says, “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice!”

jmo We can be doing nothing for hours with no distractions but just as we begin our daily prayers and Bible study, the doorbell rings, the dogs start barking, our cellphones ring, we hear ambulances nearby ... It's hard to do but we started forcing ourselves to finish our prayers & Bible study without answering any distractions, no matter how nuts it's drives us wondering who or what it is. Incredible just an act of worship can drive the enemy of our souls bonkers...so let it be.
