Whoever calculated that an entire company of Astartes were insignificant needs to be executed for heresy.
Original: Desperate last stand. Revisted Version: A glorious last stand
These good boys deserve so much more then they got.FOR THOSE WE CHERISH!!❤
Guys will think of this and say "Hell yeah"
I love it, the original sounded like the 9th's Captain in the middle of battle, while this sounds like some member of the administratum heard the story from one of the survivors and thought it would be a good propaganda piece, so he hired some professional artists and singer to make this.
The Lamenters are the true heart of Sanguinius. Facing impossible odds and the worst luck possible yet having their purity almost unmatched. Both The Emperor and The Angel himself would look up them with infinite pride.
Lamenters. One of the vanishingly few groups in the 40k universe that actually could almost be called "good guys."
The original had the feeling it was sung by the Lamenters as they made their desperate last stand buying time to allow the innocents of Philositos to evacuate. This version feels like it was song by the survivors of that last ship of Philositos remembering the golden angels that descended from the sky and sacrificed themselves for them when the rest of the Imperium had already deemed them 'acceptable losses'.
They can take our life from us, but they can't take our light from us. That was epic
I'm going to have brain surgery on Tuesday, and am going to have to go on concussion protocol for a few months. I'm glad that a new Stringstorm song was released before then, especially a redo of a classic about the Lamenters. ❤🤘🤘
Chaos Space Marine: How does it feel loyalist? to die for the lives of these insignificant beings?
Guilliman: I doubled your legion with primaris
One thing I realized about the artwork:
The desperation of the original feels more from the Lamentors perspective. But this…
"Why father do you forsake us?"
[Luck -100]
Women: "He didn't cry during Titanic. Do men even have feelings?"
Old song: sang while trying his best to breath in the battlefield.
My take is that the original was sung by a Lamenter on the field, knowing it was his final stand. The revised version makes me think of an Aspirant who heard the story and uses it to inspire his fellow trainees through their trials.
Personaly I prefer the original more, but damn those arts look good and I am so happy this song got revisit.
