I haven’t watched basketball regularly since the 90s. Melo comes along, and between him and the Hornets commentators, I’m hooked again. I even subscribed to NBA league pass to watch the Hornets, and I’ve been glued to the tv for the playoffs this year. Talent wise, the NBA has a lot of young stars in the making and the future is looking very bright.

He is very fundamental; his game has flashes of Magic Johnson, Anfernee Hardaway, Jason Kidd and Pete Maravich. He is a multitalented, multidemsional basketball player that can put up triple double numbers and in some cases he can be a quadruple threat. He is special.

I love how his highlights turned into big highlights for his teammates they guy makes everyone around him better this is the type of thing that puts you over the edge in votes. Yes Anthony is a very good player who will get even better and so is Melo; and will also help those around him as well..
So much respect for this guy. Making it this far with all the obstacles is just crazy. Congrats Melo!

@Wei wu wei thought about it and I honestly can’t put jokic above melo and really not even lebron because melo can do the passes that they’ve pulled off but they can’t do the passes that melo has pulled off, the speed at which melo dishes out his no look passes is just on a whole other level, the other guys do it in slow half court situations while melo does is speeding down the court in transition

Something I love about Lamelo is that I never expect what he’s going to do. He’s so unselfish with the ball and he’s the kind of player that makes his team sooo much better. He has this way of committing to a shot, making you think he’s going for it, only to do a no look pass or a behind the back lob, or just a backwards bounce pass it’s like no player on the court is off limits it’s like if you don’t guard everyone it’s an opportunity for lamelo. You just can’t slack with Lamelo on the court. Such a refreshing player. Excited to see this guy grow.

I don't know about y'all but the majority of his highlights are assists satisfies me. Because most highlights we see are scorers.
The commentators are a whole vibe in their own, enjoyed them more than anything!
A lot of people dislike the ball family and lamelo. But this kid is special and exciting for the league

@@ciscofast677 my point is that he missed a lot of games and that’s why he leads some categories, if he played all games like Ant did we wouldn’t have those numbers cuz he even had 12-13 games with less than 9 points and we would have had more shitty games if he played the whole season. And it is not a coincidence that literally everybody except hornet’s fans say that Ant was robbed. Lamelo is good?? yeah but he hasn’t done anything special apart from giving assists during the year, he didn’t even do anything during the play in. Ant broke a lot of record which if you want me to name them I can do so. This year is which counts and this year was for Ant, if Lamelo didn’t get injured the thing would’ve been completely different, but he did, so Ant deserved the award way more than that popular boy, cuz that’s all he is, popular, and that’s a fact

Mello reminds me of a rebirth of Reggie Miller but so much better. Way more aggressive in a passive type of way. Been following Mello since Sr year in high school and his growth has been fun to watch. I’m a fan and hope for the best for him. Would love to see him lead his team on a deep run in the playoffs in the next couple of years and take a swing for the chip. Good luck young fellow, looking forward to next season 21-22. Personally, I think Anthony Edwards deserved this award. Lamelo Ball is special and will be a future star in the league but he missed time. Edwards played the whole season in consistent fashion.

well deserved, he might not have a huge PPG for a ROTY, but he made watching games so fun, turned me into a hornets fan, he's so unpredictable and so much confidence, i think he bamboozles opponents with his skills and court vision, everyone mentions his passing but damn his entertainment value was huge in just his first year, never seen such a fun to watch rookie. congrats lamelo
