Thanks to Farhan and Hrithik. Update: wow, 4.6 k likes. Thanks guys. Name of mountain which I climbed is Stok Kangri in Ladakh. Its height is 6153 meters/ 20,190 feets from sea level.

My father was an airman and it was my dream to become a pilot in Indian Air Force. Not because I liked to see flying aircraft but also because I developed an inferiority complex by seeing the kids of Officers in IAF. But now all of those childhood dreams are nearly forgotten. The most appreciated movie of that time. Love how subtle their natural expressions were, how human and flawed the characters were- Hrithik's being a lost teen, Preity being loving yet with standards, Boman Irani being a worried father, his mom trying and covering their gap as Indian moms do, all the side actors who gelled in so well, it felt like they really were in the Army. Not sure if someone else noticed this but i also admire how the Cadets were angry yet so well mannered, and reacted exactly as the real cadets did back in the days, my brother was one that time, so i could tell. This movie has been an inspiration for an entire decent generation and am so proud to be a part.

This year in October, it was my last attempt at joining the Army as an officer. I couldn't clear my SSB and got screened out. It was my 3rd failure at the SSB. It was absolutely heartbreaking and shattering for sometime when it all happened. The fact that I wouldn't ever be able to don the olive greens as an officer of Indian Army just crushed my heart. As far as my memory goes, being an army officer and saluting my father in the uniform was the First goal I had set for myself (when I was 12 and realised that I wanted it as a career) and now realising that I couldn't succeed in it feels as if I have lost my first love to a heartbreak lol. But life goes on. For the past 2 years, I have been preparing for civil services and I am certain that if not as an army officer, then I will don the uniform as an IPS officer in the near future and serve my country. This song reminds me of my Lakshya - That a certain Passing Out Parade and a certain अंतिम पग in the SVNPA in Hyderabad awaits me in the future. Cheers to all the setbacks. Cheers to all the failures. Cheers to all the comebacks.
