I think part of the blame should also be attributed to the LakersNation community. The constant trash talk when a player goes through a rough patch, the endless trade demands, and even threats via direct messages to players make it extremely stressful for many players to play for the Lakers.

I really don't understand how anyone can expect NBA players to want to come to the Lakers. They have a head coach who has no experience in coaching. Being told what to do by someone who doesn't have a clue 😢. With all that going on, then realistically expect someone to take a pay cut to play for someone they don't respect in a position that they haven't earned 🤔.

Best trades are made before training camp, some good players who are traded to bad teams are available to be trade again in september. Example - josh green is currently in hornets, and he can be traded after august 30th

Per 36 minutes in starts, his averages rise to 18.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks, with shooting percentages of 48.2% from the field and 35.7% from three. The fact that the NBA openly allows collusion against the LAKERS should be the bigger story. Because if X player were younger then he either wouldn't be available or he would require more picks and draft compensation. We have enough "young" players, if we get 3 players that are 30-35 yrs old to fill our most empty positions, then that's what we need to do. We also need a new medical staff because they've been horrible lately and most of the injured players had the same injury "swollen knee."

I've been pissed 🤬 off at Rob all damn season, but I'm tired of being pissed so instead I'm going to be supportive, because if Bron and AD aren't worried then why should I be. I wouldn't just make a trade to please everybody because U can't please everybody anyway. If it doesn't help or make good sense Y do it. They only need to tweak it a little bit the major issue is health.

My trade scenario: LA sends BKN: D'Lo, Rui, JHS, Wood, & a protected 1st. BKN sends LA: Cam Johnson, Day'Ron Sharpe, & Dennis Schroder. This works for LA for many reasons. Cam is a slight upgrade over Rui overall, but a better perimeter defender & historically a better 3PT shooter. D'Lo is a better player than Dennis, but Dennis is the better defensive player. On a talent level, people might argue this is a push, but I think Cam & Dennis fit better on this team than Rui & D'Lo do. Also, in Sharpe LA gets a big-bodied center prospect who is only 22 years old & should slot in as a decent backup C with upside to be a quality rotational player. The trade also cuts a couple million off payroll & opens a roster spot. This works for BKN b/c they get a 1st round pick, a young PG prospect in JHS, & D'Lo & Wood's expiring contracts. They would be buying low on Wood in particular; from '20-'23, Wood averaged 18/9 & shot 38% from 3PT, & still only 28 years old. He would immediately be slotted as BKN's starting C, & if he plays well, can be flipped at the trade deadline. They also swap out Cam for Rui, who is a couple years younger than Cam & is on a decent contract that is easily flippable if BKN decides that's what they want to do. Also, Rui is historically less of an injury risk than Cam so he there's less risk involved in keeping Rui as a trade asset the next season or 2.

If Westbrook was making 4.8 mill per yr coming off bench as energy it would have been fine, but at 48 mill playing 35 mpg it made zero sense right away! For FO to say no to all of the obvious stuff LeBron wanted but not say NO to past prime worst contract in the NBA hurt your defense/spacing/3P% Westbrook makes them even more embarrassing! Pelinka still having a job (especially when Bob Myers and Tim Connelly have both been available for 2 yrs for the right price. Connelly not any more) is EMBARRASSING! How TF can anyone OBJECTIVE say “LeBron ruined/runs lakers” when there are so many clear examples where the Lakers FO didnt do what he wanted?!?! Its like these same ppl forget Lakers also gave away Zubac, Lopez, & drafted D-Lo, Ingram, Lonzo 2nd in 3 straight drafts when Porzingis Jaylen Brown & Tatum all went 4/3/3 in those same drafts including Celtics 3/3 in b2b drafts! Kuzma has a career -1.1 BPM, -2.2 OnOff (-7.2 in playoffs), Awful ORtg, bad DRtg, 33% 3P shooter last 6 yrs (on 6 attempts so chucker who doesn’t shoot well), 28% 3P% in 27 playoff games (on 4 attempts)! Rui was awful in 1st round vs Nuggets for sure (bottom 3 analytically of all 80 starters in playoffs) fwiw and Kuzma prob better, but it’s minimal and both have issues. Defensive EPM in 2023-24 Kuzma was 33rd percentile and Rui 64th percentile. In 2023-24 Rui was 74th percentile in EPM while Kuzma was 59th percentile. D-Lo was 84th percentile. This notion Kuzma somehow makes lakers better when giving up Rui/D-Lo + JHS (essentially another 1st rd pick) and future 2029 1st is illogical to me.

They need to trade Wood and a second round pick to a team with space. That's the first ball to drop. After that, trade Vincent, Hayes, and a heavily protected first for Robert Williams III.

Don't overpay for players, if we can't improve the roster at a reasonable cost so be it. Players don't want to play with LeBron, teams don't want to trade with the Lakers. It is what it is. Let JJ earn his contract. If he's worth anything he should add 4-6 wins to the same roster with better strategies, timely time outs and the abolishment of galaxy brain lineups.

The Lakers are the in-season tournament champions and were derailed when Ham started messing with the line-up immediately after and caused us to be trapped in that play in scramble, which caused us to get a pretty bad match up with the Nuggets. If Ham didn’t squander our regular season and got a top 4 seeding instead of a play in seeding then we might be talking about making minor adjustments instead of being 2-3 pieces away. This might be how the FO is looking at it and is why they are not showing desperation especially after getting rid of the cause of the problem from last season.

No, we are not all on pin and needles waiting for something. Some of us aren't manufacturing story lines just to stay on pins and needles. Chill and just wait until something happens.

Kuzma would not be a good aquisition especially since hes used to chuck up 30 shots a game now Garland too small If we are going to trade players and picks it must be for a 3 point shooting rim protecting big only.

I see a lot of "let's just do something" takes. The Lakers are closer to being a lottery team should LeBron and/or AD miss significant time or LeBron retires after this season than any of these proposed trades actually making them a contender. Going from 7th to 5th isn't worth being on the other side of Gail Goodrich or Don Ford trade. This isn't the Showtime or Kobe/Shaq era where draft picks were very expendable where the Lakers would be picking. Is Kessler, Sexton, Kuzma, Finney-Smith, Cam Johnson gonna be worth it if the next VW comes along and another team is holding the pick?
