@@aizensama9141 Well, then Mark Jackson should not have imposed or be imposing his religious beliefs on adult professional basketball players or any NBA organization. It's a business, not a church and I do hope he gets his chance to coach in the NBA soon, but he has to be able to finesse his situations and not bombard NBA players and organizations with aggressive sermons while coaching, unless he was to coach college ball where some of that might be needed, but Jackson has to have learned and know by now that his way doesn't work with the NBA. Mark Jackson needs to ask himself does he want to be an NBA Head Coach or a Pastor, because it cannot nor should not be both. Again, I am rooting for Mark Jackson to become an NBA Head Coach as soon as possible.

But really what is the point anymore to that strategy? How many assistants waiting for their break and a first year assistant has. With the impatience of ownerships today you get fired like Vogel, Hamm and Griffin. Griffin was in his first few months, yes they were struggling with things but he didn’t finish bush the year to get to adjust and learn. So nope is hardly a point to sitting as an assistant; take your shot when you get it even if you have no experience. The segment was silly because they said Pat Riley vibes, not will have Pat Riley immediate impact.

You have to be a big enough personality and voice to withstand everything you’re gonna have to withstand. Oddly enough to be the coach of Franchises like the lakers or cowboys XOs might be the least important part of the job. Put JJ in Detroit or Washington where they can put young players and he can lose, learn but mostly experiment. Somewhere where his IQ can be put on display while he grows his voice as a leader

His podcast is on point, but to give him the keys to the LAL and coaching them is a big task. I like JJ too much to want this for him. This could hurt his legacy. Maybe one day down the line he could be an NBA coach, but he's only 39 and I would hope he would wait another 5-6 years before taking on this task and even consider being an assistant for a couple seasons first.

A guy as meticulously in his training as a player and now in business, commentating and podcasting. That work ethic can easily translate to coaching. Joy brought up film and family, training staff. Good memorial Day weekend I hope everyone is doing well!! Shady is OnPoint the Lakers (or any other team in any sport) would not have patience for a rookie head coach!! Since the pressure of winning is now I would give a seasoned veteran head coach 2 to 3 years before I would hire a rookie head coach. Yes Pat Riley is a legend I would only say that if by some unique way the basketball gods made him 50 years younger having his attributes corrected showing the perfect way to immortality (then I or anyone would say that). Go with the coach who is the best fit do not make an impulsive move. Whoever they hire will already know Showtime (the NBA has 30 teams each one has a different way to say Showtime) will be under and feel a lot of pressure!! I love the show SPEAK thank you to everyone!!

I personally think it's going to be Sam Cassell. I think that the JJ rumors are a feeler to see what would happen it they did go down that street. They see all the negative backlash coming from it and will not go through with it.

Why not Reggie Miller? Since we are talking NBA commentary. Seriously is this a conversation? And how did this start? No wonder the historic Lakers are in this position because we are having conversations like this.

Mark Jackson actually makes sense - it's controversial and will give the Lakers the spotlight, he can be scapegoated and even Lebron won't be at fault because Jackson is considered an actual coach.

They just fired Darvin Ham. Now, they're looking at JJ Redick? Is the front office insane? Do they not get that the Lakers are supposed to be the premiere destination in the league? Their Head coach should reflect that image and frankly, JJ Redick doesn't do that. There are plenty of other qualified head coaches that should be in line ahead of him. This move would be crazy bordering on stupid. I get that there are no Phil Jackson type's out there but there MUST BE a better option on the table for them. If NOT then they have become a joke.
