Lake Lure & Chimney Rock Village / HGTV Home Town Takeover Submission
We were excited to produce this video application for the town of Lake Lure & Chimney Rock Village to appear on HGTV's new Home Town Takeover television show- www.hgtv.com/shows/home-town/...
This was filmed in 1 day by Destination By Design's communications team with a very quick turn-around. As you can see there's a ton of opportunity for HGTV & Ben & Erin in this little mountain nook.
From the HGTV website:
"So just how, you ask, might you have your own home town considered for a whole-town overhaul? So glad you asked. Through Tuesday, February 4, 2020, any citizen of a small town (population 40,000 or less) who loves their own hometown can go to HGTVHomeTownTakeover.com and log on to show, tell - and sell - HGTV on why theirs is the one town most deserving to be featured in the special series.
Applicants should strive to highlight aspects of their town that make it special, fascinating, historic or unique - including distinctive features like vintage period architecture, special destinations or a classic main street."

Love that brewery
My Grandparents lived at, and ran The Bottomless pools from the 50's into the 70's. Wish somebody would come along and reopen that Gem !

Oh wow! I just watched a video where someone was talking about the bottomless pools back behind the Lake Lure Inn. Weren't there a lot of people that got killed back there?

I forgot about those! I'm in my late 40's and was told by my father when I was a kid about them.

I remember going to the bottomless pools when I was a kid (in the 80s). As I know, they aren't used as an attraction anymore.
We need the board walk for the bicycling
Heaven on earth, is for the privileged.
There is a REASON we Montana folks DO NOT advertise our small beautiful small towns. Bozeman foolishly did that and its getting destroyed! Its a catch 22. 1) Advertise a beautiful small town. 2) People visit 3) people move there 4) the area gets overcrowded 5) its no longer a beautful small town. Its now a city just like any other. When you advertise a place like this you are your own downfall. HGTV has tried to come into my city in Montana many times. They city WONT grant permits to film there. One of the film crews actually went to Bozeman when we kicked them out.
