I booked a trip to Lake Garda this week. I will be staying in Riva del Garda in October. This video was a great way to see the different towns and also see how beautiful the lake can be outside of the busy summer period. This video has made me very excited for my trip :)

Hi, I had such an amazing trip to Italy and I would 100% recommend Lake Garda in October. The weather was mostly good around 18/20c so I wore a dress everyday but I would put a jacket on in the evening. The shoulder season made the trip cheaper and it meant that Lake Garda was much quieter which I loved. We stayed in Riva del Garda which was beautiful and a great place to stay if you want a similar feel to Lake Como with that mountainous picturesque views. Sirmione is also gorgeous but is not surrounded by mountains. We also visited Malcesine and Limone which were both lovely but Malcesine was our favourite and I would definitely go back and stay there. Make sure you take a trip up into the mountains to see Lago di Tenno and also the beautiful medieval village of Canale di Tenno. This stunning little village was the highlight of my trip. We did have one day of heavy rain so we went on a day trip to Venice that day and because it was the end of October it was the last day trip of the season. Venice was beautiful even in the rain and I actually think it made the city a little less busy than usual. We were actually able to stand on the Rialto Bridge and look out at the grand canal. I would recommend you also use this video to make your itinerary I did and I found that Valeriya has really great recommendations@@brianasullivan5684 ***Important: Even in October, Lake Garda was actually a very expensive trip with lots of hidden costs like food, transport and attractions. For the 4 of us it cost the same amount in total as our trip to St Lucia but I would still recommend going to Lake Garda. Just bare in mind that Italy is just an expensive place in general. A tip would be eat in sometimes like Valeriya, that was our mistake. Make sure you get a Garda Guest Card for tourist discounts. We got to visit the Bastione di Riva for free with the card!!!

Hi Angelica, sure, in Verona we stayed at B&B Magnolia. It was rather cheap, and located near train station, but it was clean and comfy. In lake Garda we stayed at Garda Doma ( I booked directly with them via their instagram). I've never been on holiday on my own and Lake Garda keeps popping up and tempting me - thanks for showing us what it's like. I'm quite introverted and anxious so struggle a lot in busy places - Do you think there are plenty of less crowded areas to lose yourself/get away in and around Lake Garda?(compared to someplace like Florence or Rome)

We visited the lake beginning of April (before it got crowded for Easter holidays by Germans😆) so that was very calm and relaxing, a lot place to park, almost no traffic gems. But i would never go there in summer🙃i think it can get pretty crowded even there are a lot of villages to stay. So maybe end of September will be also good time to go if you are planning to go soon. Just stay away of main season and holidays periods. I am sure you will like it 👍🏻

I definitely liked Malcesine and Riva del Garda side more. Least fav was Limone sul Garda and Sirmione. They are way too touristy

I mean if you are a vegetarian, then yes, it is probably hard to understand. But if you eat beef then there is not much difference. And I would say it is even better (cleaner meat than pork
