Growing up, Figuroa to Sierra Madre ridge was my “High Sierras.” This and the last big fire, and the one that burned Rancho Allegro, have been heartbreaks. Best wishes and safety to the tough firefighters facing the heat, fire, ticks, and poison oak.

Mr. Safechuck when asked what was his "biggest concern", he made it clear that his greatest concern is the crew. Good man!!!

They couldn't use the tankers on every day due to weather variabilities, but oftentimes they still use the choppers.

I'm not sure about smaller or more recent fires, but the Zaca Fire in 2007 was the closest in size and area to where the Lake Fire is now.

this is way everybody in southern ca must pay the fire tax. as then the fire crews will have billions of USD to work with.

This is because KEYT is always slow on their KZread uploads. You'll often see weather forecasts for the weekend posted three days later on Tuesday.

I think this Captain got promoted because of his last name.
