Lake District Walks | Walking the Wainwrights | Low Fell and Fellbarrow - Buttermere valley view!
On an unexpectly lovely Sunday evening, Neil heads out from Thackthwaite in the north west of the Engigh Lake District, to visit two low Wainwright hills - Low Fell and Fellbarrow. Along the way, there is a song thrush, endless sheep, a spectacular view south over the whole Buttermere valley and west and north to the Irish Sea and Solway Firth, across the Cumberland plain. To the east is are the North Western Fells all the way across to Skiddaw and Blencathra.
The whole walk is around 5 miles long, with 502 m / 1,650 ft of ascent and descent, and should take around 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Check out the route here: explore.osmaps.com/route/2191...

You said it yourself. Absolutely beautiful. That's a fantastic view from Low Fell. A super little walk. I think it's one for my two young grand children to do. Spot on! It's one I really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing

One of the advantages of "Doing the Wainwrights" is that it takes you to areas of the Lakes you might not otherwise visit - this is definitely worth a slight diversion!
Always enjoy your videos - thanks for sharing - my wife and I did the walk a few days after you did it. I think the view from Low Fell looking east is one of the best in Lakeland.
