Brought back memories. My parents took me to Chelan every year because my dad liked to watch the hydroplane races. We would sleep in a tent under cherry trees and the smell was unbelievable. In the morning the ground was covered in pink petals. At night there was always a big bonfire and all the kids would roast marshmallows.

Lake Chelan is gorgeous! I was there this summer and it was a bit smoky because of forest fires but it was still gorgeous. I'm from Massachusetts so I'm not used to the desertish climate and look and it was a lovely change. I recommend Lake Chelan to anyone planning to travel to central Washington!

Thank you for the kind words and for watching! I plan to make a Stehekin trip this coming season. It's a part of Lake Chelan very few people ever see and it's definitely worth sharing. Thanks again. Feel free to watch other videos I've filmed. I have two more BACKROADS episodes as well.

Hi Cale, i was woundering if you know where in the south of this lake are the most popular fishing areas?

I'm not positive. I haven't fished in awhile. I see a lot of boats fishing by Lakeside Park. The are usually gathered just north of the park 1,000 - 2,000 feet out. My friend's dad fishes a lot, I'll ask him. The lake is shallower from Wapato Point to Chelan. North of Wapato it gets really deep!

Unspoiled beauty? Wrong..... People are coming here tearing down scenic views and replacing it with houses not lived in even half of the year. Trash litters the lake now, the water is no longer a clear blue green, invasive species are overrunning the lake thanks to neglegent boaters and everyone thinks they own it ALL. I've lived here my whole life. It destroys me to see this beautiful place get destroyed by greedy people who want to escape to somewhere beautiful only to change it by tearing it down. RIP Lake Chelan. I wish I could have captured its true beauty before it was destroyed, but I was much too young to own a camera and phones weren't even a thing yet. I miss how beautiful, safe and peaceful it once was. The only way to find this unspoiled beauty is to explore the mountains. Even then, they are now setting their sights on those too. They want to destroy the historic elephant purely out of short term profit and greed. It is a gorgeous mountain we affectionately admire, but if they have their way it too will soon be gone. It will all be gone. When does it end? Until there is nothing left and we have yet another Seattle? They come here to seek a change only to want to change this place into where they have come from. 💔 And they don't see that. Or worse, don't care.

These would be better video's without you re face always in them. Good filming though

Are you referring to how closeup the face shots are or just me in general? I do use a very wide angle lens now to not be crowding the shot.
