Consider it done. My band Paint and Copter have a new video called For Lain, a love letter of sorts.

Now that's a true friend. She remembers her even when she shouldn't.

The Arisu (or Alice) scenes were my favorite parts of the show. Glad they gave her and Lain a proper goodbye

When I watched this scene years ago I almost had a whiplash from the sense of closure It sounds weird and that's exactly how it felt

Glad to see that Lain changed her perspective about existing, regardless of anyone being aware of her presence or not. We all exist and we all have our own singular worlds from the moment time begun to move for us. We all have our lives benefited for someone who did something that would better people in the future. We still exist whether anyone remembers that or not. That's what individuality is all about. No matter how many friends or dearest people you have around you, only you can see the better and the worst of yourself. That's what this ending taught me after seeing all these years, thinking.

Very Bittersweet, i love it

this scene really disproves the nihilism of earlier on in the series for me. The human brain is more complex than we could fathom, so despite lain's best efforts she can't completely erase arisu's memories of her. "If you're not remembered, you never existed" is shown to be false; simply living alongside other people defines your existence, regardless of whether you exist within someone's conscious memory. Your actions will forever affect their subconscious, giving your actions some semblance of purpose. I think this is why lain eventually chose to keep her human form, even after she was told countless times that her body means nothing and that it should be abandoned. No one can remember lain, but she lives on through the things they don't remember, and i think that makes a really beautiful ending

Why do I still weep over this ending? It's not even sad, really
