At Fort Ord in the mid 80's, I would be in the tree line up in the hills watching races on those rare occasions that we were not out training. Had a blast being stationed in the Bay Area! I used to just sit back and imagine being in one of those race vehicles....

The corkscrew was never that easy in Gran Turismo.

My favorite track for any vehicle!!

This seems a "warm-up race" more than a real race. Guys were chilling on those karts..

I agree. Bunch of amators and this guy in white kart is from completely higher ligue or have spend much more time on race track. These are not equal to him opponents. The difference is too much and i see that the rest doesn't know anything how to race and cut the corners properly. Anyway great ride through Laguna Seca.

Racing my 256 in my Swift back in the day was a blast. I even ran a cr500 for a bit. I still have the custom cone pipe, motor mounts, shifter and a few front gears. If you know anybody that really wants to fast.

What is in that #420, it's obviously not a 250cc 2 stroke, is it one of those Rotory engines? Is this some kind of exhibition or any actual race, was really hard to tell, the lines were all over the place and hard for me to tell what was going on. At any rate, looks like a lot of fun, I don't think most people know how technical and physical it is to race karts and how most all street cars, even exotics, are incredibly boring after racing these types of race craft.

I like the #69 kart with the playboy logo on the front.

Yes. I'm 6'6 and I race with someone that is 6'8. You'll fit in a standard kart no problem.

Get rid of the ridiculous music. Tell your pit shooter that racing is a horizontal sport Otherwise Laguna Seca is fun. I crawled through Ice Plant over the hill doing basic training and I came back years later when I was Pennzoil's Indy Car Photographer. Have a good time

Good video but the music is very distracting. The sounds of the karts are the music.

Music is cool at the intro but who wants to listen to that shit during a race?

Maybe not garbage but irritating a lot. The only sound should be voice of the engines. Sound of these machines are better and more appropriate than music especially on the track 😉

Good tune, but not with Karting. That's music in itself ...

Had to give up halfway through watching- that F*"KING 'music' is SO ANNOYING !

laughable how they're all over the track, setting up for the corner from the middle of the track, rarely on the fast line thru the corners. wrong gear thru the corners. lifting on the straights. wtf. couldn't spot a real racer in the crowd

A Likely Story I figure your probably just trolling for attention but I will take the bait lol As a racer myself I can assure you that driving in real life is not like the video games you play. When you crash playing your game nothing happens in real life you can get hurt bad or killed. The only reason I say you gleaned all your vast knowledge of track lines from video games is because a real racer would never make the comment you did. Go out spend some time blood, sacrifice and money build a kart or whatever vehicle excites you and hit the track. Then come back in 5 years and delete your comment. Good luck too you

And I'm sure I'm envious, having spent 3 days at Spa in 2000, watching Hakkinen pass Schumacher up Kemmel, during practice hanging from the cyclone fence on the outside of the corner thru Blanchimont - before they moved the spectators back. I'm not trying to bust the guy's ego. Apologies. Race on.

A Likely Story I humbly apologize for jumping to conclusions on your experience as a racer. I too had dreams and aspirations of driving for a living but it was not to be. possibly with a little more luck , money and talent I could of been somebody lol. I guess I just see so many video game jockeys talking smack on here that I jump to conclusions. Good luck to you

"A likely..." I'm totally agree with you. Nobody is keeping a racing line or defend his position and the guy in white kart knows what to do and how to overtake. So he can easly could move up his position in rankings and on the track. For me it looks like it was payed weekend for amateurs who could rent a superkarts. Otherwise opponents should be much harder to overtake. Anyway great ride on Laguna Seca and good high quality video. Shame that the music cover up the sounds of engines. 😕

Music ruins it... Also the editing is terrible. I am sorry but we are not here to see some beach and watch a video by a director with ADHD. You could at least cut to a near driver so the track is more fluid, this going back and forth is horrible. I am sorry but I feel like I had to say this, I know I probably shouldn't. As a VERY big Laguna Seca fan this is very disappointing though.
